This is really clever. Thank you for sharing. I have a US General 72” box as well. Right now, my welding hood and gear is in that drawer, but I’m saving up for a nicer welding cart. This is a great idea for what to do with that big drawer, and it organizes my power tools.

I know this is I’ve a year old, but I just found it. Good build. I’m thinking about doing this with my craftsman box, with a drawer about the same size as that.

My first one died early but the replacement and another one I bought are still working fine. I like the brightness but wish they ran longer.

Great engineering. It was smart to make the box the small height as the drawer rails so your chain has a straight shot next to the rails out the back. Better than the snap on where u have to cut a hole side of the drawer off.

next time flip the drag chain it will be quieter and smoother. I have had a plasma cnc on order for 5 months if I ever get it I may be able to help you out with the rest of your project.

Great vid , I am just now looking for ideas on how to do this...coincidentally I do have a green 72" US General... I went with a Belkin 8 plug strip and skipped the usb, at 2.1a , I thought it better to get the USB off a block with higher amperage(and USB-C). It is longer tho. Ordering the drag chain now...

Time to upgrade to Series 3 US General now, the 72" casters can hold 6,600 lbs.

Great idea. I have been looking for ideas on how to do this for my new 56" cabinet. Did you end up finding someone with a brake or did you bend your sheet metal another way? Looks like it was made for it.

I do handheld 2 cycle and battery repairs along with robotic mowers, heaters and generators. We have others that do 4 cycle and large equipment.

We can discuss it right here. I'm not interested in making parts for anyone. I supplied the idea and you have to supply your own labor. When I get these ideas in my head i just roll with them till they are complete and out of my head. I don't even remember building that channel but there are simpler ways to do it like just building a shelf or rest to support the chain link. Good luck and thanks for watching.
