1947 India did not get freedom from the UK because India heavily depended on the UK. At that time UK Navy was the best in the world. That is the reason Gandhi Ji was supporting Nehru. He is the only person who can keep the UK in good books. After 77 years India has become a military superpower and no country in the world can defeat India in a battle. That was not the condition in 1947. None of the previous foreign ministers of India could speak so confidently against the US policies because India know the weaknesses of other superpowers. India is following in the footsteps of Bhagavan Sri Krishna. The US lost a reliable friend due to their erratic behaviour.

India joining NATO makes no sense. India is nowhere near Europe, America, or ghe North Atlantic. It is also a regional power, not a global power like the US. Why would India want to join? If there was an anti China alliance between Quad members or all the countries which face illegal land grab by China-that would be India plus ASEAN plus Japan, Butan, Nepal, Phillippines and others, then that military alliance would make sense, provided it cannot get dragged into military intervention in conflicts in other parts of the world.

Dear Dumbo... US wants to use India like its doing Ukranian. Indian military and manufacturing complex in too small compared to China. So all the US is trying to do is to ensure we can so a little more damage to China in coming war. They know that China is going to attack India and the odds are similar to Russia against Ukranian. We should prepare really hard for war... Have stockpile of ammunition and spares etc... ...and take whatever help we could get. Because China is at a different league with its 5th Gen aircrafts and we are purchasing 2nd hand 4th generation ones. Being a US skeptic I appreciate it for supporting us with technology (although to serve its own interest)
