I believe the bible, koran and tora all say ''and people will believe lies''. This is what they are talking about: people standing against humanity and thinking that israel (an strong proponent of humanity) is evil. Not realising that in their actions and behaviour *they* are expressing evil. As the year progresses, more and more people will realise the truth of this.

Agree with 1. and 3. Disagree with 2. only because a) I disagree in principle with any US-orchestrated regime change op, and b) the Israeli right wing is the majority. Netanyahu is by Israeli standards a moderate. Seems Israel's policy of courting settlers from Brooklyn or New Jersey was not necessarily in Israel's own long-term interests.

The US can respond to any conflict, anywhere in the world, with speed and efficiency, so Isreal holds no strategic value. In fact, Isreal is more of a liability, on US Taxpayers, and are the main cause of conflict in the region. Maybe, if Isreal was 'cut loose', they would be less inclined to fight, and more inclined to negotiate, with their neighbours.

Agreed, the US has _actual_ military bases in Cyprus that it can use to exert influence, regardless of an Israeli shaped ally. Not to mention the most powerful navy in the world. Israel's greatest value seems, to me, to be keeping everyone else in the region busy and tied up with internal unrest due ILs treatment of Palestinians.

@@unom8 agreed, and Russia maintains a significant military presence in Syria. Not saying it's immediate threat but Russian naval and air force bases in the Syrian coastal province of Latakia present a risk is Israel broadens their regional aggression.

@@unom8 Mentioning only Israeli treatment of palestinans ignores that everyone in the middle east doesnt want to give palestinians good lives either. Why not? Because they are forced into that behaviour by the people with real power in the north and west. This is also why they wont allow Israel lasting peace or victory, and why they planned oktober 7th. If the rest of the area was humane and allowed by the ''west'' to give good lives to palestinans, this area would have become peaceful a long time ago.

So Israel-US relationships are irreparably fractured but Israel-Palestinian relations are not and should therefore institute a 2 state solution. Both are ridiculous. Nothing is irreparable. Both will take time to repair.

Absence of a state for the Palestinians is at the root of the damage. Nobody can be expected to live in slavery or apartheid, and anyone will naturally lash out against this. The bottom line is that Palestinians have been living there for thousands of years, and snatching away their sovereignty merely to cater to another group is despicable. Palestinian rights are no less than Jewish rights.
