why is it that on University Challenge, Paxman can say something like "well you all know the rules so lets just get on with it" while here on Pointless Alexander have to say, each and every god damn episode, that "just remember, it will be the highest scoring pair who gets eliminated" etc (complete with the damn hand gestures as well, EVERY. SINGLE. TIME). There's been 24 series of this show; everyone knows this, both everyone watching and every contestant. Is it just legalities because there's money involved here as opposed to on UC?

it was obvious from the start that Norwood Builder was going to be correct and pointless and that the other "The Adventure Of" one would be incorrect. Because they always do this; if there are two standing out that are similar to eachother, 99% chance one of them will be incorrect and the other pointless. And of course it is the oddest one of them that will be pointless, because why would they choose that as a made up one. The most basic concept of game theory is anticipating your opponent's move, and the "opponent" in this case are of course the question writers. And if you pay attention there will be a lot of those kind of patterns in the "jackpot booster" rounds

to the question writers on Pointless: there *are* other board games in existence beside Monopoly, you know. I dont think I have seen a single instance where the category has been "board games" and it hasnt been a Monopoly question.

I mean it's nearly 100 years off. It's like saying Harry Truman was President during the American civil war.
