Josh and his fellow army recruits in the Airborne Division in Alaska, USA are practicing parachuting out of a plane when one of the recruits has a close call. The recruit has trouble deploying the faulty parachute and free falls almost all the way down. Luckily at the last second, the solider is able to deploy his reserve parachute and land safely. Everyone watching cheers at the close call.

I went skydiving in the summer once, and it was still absolutely freezing to be in freefall. These guys are out here in snow, and this guy fell for 90% of the jump. Landing regularly hurts enough, with the whiplash alone, but landing right after a freefall in the freezing cold is gonna be extra painful. One thing I like about military, is as soon as everbody knew he was safe they cheered. Imagine the joy of knowing you won't die, and hearing feint voices of your comrades cheering that on, at the same time. Those are special moments for everybody.

God bless him. It happened to a friend of mine during Jump School. He was on his third qualifying Jump and the Main failed to deploy. His name was Hebdon, this was back in 1983. Everyone always thought he was a bit slow at things and he was a pretty darn big Guy. We watched him try to deploy the Reserve, fail, deploy, fail, probably managed a couple more tries, before the Chute caught Air, and slowed him down, around 300-400 feet. He came in hard, and broke both his Legs. You have thought the Jumpmasters would have awarded him the Jump Wings , on the spot. Noper. They made him finish his last two Jumps, as soon as his Legs were healed. Respect to Hebdon. He was a great Soldier, I wonder where he is , Today. AATW

Perfect example of military danger perception. Goes from "look at that guy he might die, that's funny" to "wait that guy might actually die.." to "HELL YEAH HE DIDNT DIE!".

Damn that is such a beautiful scene. You got the sunset in the background, clear skies, men in uniforms on the ground as they watch their fellow brothers parachute down (and obviously that one dude 😂) and in an open area with that clean white snow.
