US TESTING MOST Destructive LASER Weapon! The Shahed 136 can no longer even take off. This finally changes the approach to air defense in real combat conditions. The landmark event occurred due to the high cost of the Iron Dome and will allow for more effective repulsion of all types of attacks on Israel in the near future. While laser weapons are becoming more common among Western allies, China and its allies have nothing to counter them. But is laser technology really that powerful?

After a 4 year stint in the Navy doing Electronic Warfare , I got out and went to community college. and in 1987 I received a degree in Laser Electro Optics. I got my degree 37 years too soon. I ended up using my degree in the printing and publishing for the first half of my career and transitioned to using lasers in the medical field.

I learned about lasers in 1963 when they were ruby rods! There was not any optics at the time! In 1971 I developed a Tesla coil x-ray laser with an iron ion propellant! I did not want to release it.

It's easiest to paint an object the same color as the laser being used, and then the laser, no matter how powerful, can't affect it. It's also quite simple to create a missile or drone that can produce a kind of smoke screen around itself, surrounding the entire drone or missile in flight. In the future, there will probably be drones and missiles that will change their color to exactly match the laser's frequency as soon as they are hit, and immediately signal all other drones to change their colors accordingly.

A very easy solution to counter laser is to build the missiles like mirrors and the laser has out of order

That actually wouldn't work. Mirrors can only reflect light in the visible spectrum, and cannot dissipate thermal energy imparted by a laser. A sufficiently-powerful laser would literally heat and melt through a mirror.
