I have an 07 MDX and bought this and installed it yesterday after watching your video. I never in a million years would have been able to do this. Thanks so much!

In my Acura 2007 MDX, XMRadio was reversed, so I had to pull out the LEFT cable, not the RIGHT. Thank you for the video. Saved me 80$ installation.

I followed your instruction to install the device on my 2008 Acura MDX with Nav, took about 10 minutes, works perfectly. Thank you for putting the video together.

@@josephcarrasco649 I just looked but apparently I never finished that video although I know I took the footage. I have since sold the RL but I do remember the process. It was super easy on the RL. I pealed back the trunk liner on the driver side, didn't even need to remove it. Just behind the liner is the XM unit. You unplug the one of the XM unit plugs and insert the y connector. Then I double sided taped the BT45 to the quarter panel. I hope that helps.

So for the BT45-ACU model you shouldn't have to hook anything up directly to your radio? Only the XM tuner location?

Hi, I have a 2008 Mdx with Navigation and DVD. But the Bluetooth buttons are there but Bluetooth is not available. Also it does not have AUC port. I found out that we loose the aux input on the stereo when we move to elite package because the aux input is replaced with a 115 volt plug which is located in the center console. How do I get both Bluetooth and aux port set up without compromising the DVD? Please help.

Can anyone answer this question for me...please? I bought my 07 RDX and previous owner disconnected stock BT module to prevent battery drain, so I have NO STEREO, No speaker output, or Navigation. By replacing my factory BT with this, will this enable my stereo and speakers and nav to work again? Is this the device I need to get back to jamming? (I know it fits, according to Crutchfield), but is this the remedy for these issues?

Thank you for this video. Some questions: (1) Will this work to play audio from iPhone apps: spotify, pandora, audible, stitcher, etc? (2) What happens when you receive a phone call while playing from the apps? Does the phone call go through the car speakers and is the phone mic usable? Thanks!
@pn94176 жыл бұрын
yeah your phone just connects to the unit like it would to a bluetooth speaker, any app will work. when you get a call, it does put it through the car speakers. if you hook up the little microphone they include, it should work to talk into, although he didnt show it in this video. if you dont install the mic, you wont be able to talk to people unless you switch to speakerphone or iphone while in the call

Laser Sharp did you install this and if so what happens if you don’t install the microphone? I have an i phone and was hoping to use the factory hfl instead of wiring that mic in. Wondering what happens for you question 2 if you are using the music feature and either get a call or want to make a call.

Hi Andy, thanks for the instructions. I have a question though: Will the wheel call controls work with this unit? Meaning, as my BT unit is draining my battery i have completely disconnected. Will this unit replace that? Do I have to install the ugly microphone? Thanks
@time2see192 Жыл бұрын
Did you ever try this BT unit? Mine was disconnected when I bought it for draining battery issue as well, so I have no tunes, no navigation, only the backup camera. Also reads dvd error on screen...? I was wondering if I replace the BT module with this, will my stereo work again? And without draining the battery...I'd love a reply... 😊 thank you!!

I have removed the original blue tooth module from the rear of the console of my 2007 MDX to stop the battery drain. I am now interested in getting a new bluetooth module for hands free calling and am looking at the BT45-ACU unit. Will it work by hooking it up to the XM radio even if the original Acura blue tooth unit has been disconnected and removed from the console? Will it also work if i do not have a current subsription to XM radio? Will it work on a Canadian Acura MDX with Nav?

Garry Harder yeah i have a same question :)

From what I understand it will work with the bluetooth unit disabled. No need for an XM subscription. However, there may be an issue with the Canadian MDX: One final thing to note on here and it is for Canadian owners only. Check the connector on your XM unit before you order the USA Spec unit. I found out the hard way after receiving it that Canadians do not have XM Live Traffic as an option on their MDXes with Navi, so the BT45-ACU will not work because the splitter plug does not fit. How you can tell is if your XM connector is a WHITE plug. That means you need to get the BT45-HON3 instead. This is for Canadians only. For the US owners, if you check your XM unit, the connector plug should be BLACK. This means that BT45-ACU is what you need. But Canadians don't have the LiveTraffic option for XM and as such their units have the different white plug. Thanks for the video. This thing costs $165 on Amazon. I am currently putting all my music on DVD-DL discs (each one is 8.5GB which holds about 850 songs in mp3 format(10mb/song). 6 Dics can hold roughly 5k songs. I think I will pass the upgrade. I may just use the Bluetooth/FM transmitter which costs only $20 to stream music from smartphone.
