I love Shawn she is a amazing gymnast . But I wonder why she didn't win gold in 2008 . And have u ever wonder if she hadn't had that knee injury would she have won gold in 2012 !!!!?

Louann Dameus Sadly, her bars were never really well received by the judges (I always liked her bars and felt she was so clean, even though the difficulty wasn't high), and the judges were really really picky on beam execution (she was doing some of the most/ more difficult acro work on beam, and was excellent, but with harder skills come more opportunities to deduct). Her floor was excellent, but though her vault was super hard, she slightly underrotated her vault and that huge step cost a bit in execution. I still believe she was very underscored on bars and beam. And then, adding to all that, the code of points at that time was all about favoring those good on bars and with high difficulty there (just like the 2012COP was hugely favoring the harder vaults), so Nastia was easily able to overtake Shawn there and gain an advantage. If Shawn hadn't had mistakes on her vault, and had been scored fairly (or what I consider to be fairly) on bars, I think she could have overtaken Nastia for the gold.
