This is where the lightening Bolt made the decision to become a true professional. He was a teenager(18 yrs old) running against men in the Olympics(2004 Athens) and sometimes you have to lose so you can learn how to win. Now he's the greatest of all time and a legend.
@Cbreeze59

I'm fully aware of his hamstring injury that affected his performance in the race. Bolt qualified to run in this Olympics because he was the World Junior Champion and record holder at 17yrs old with a time of 19.93 so he could have won it if it wasn't for his injury. He also gained valuable experience running against the older athletes.

For everyone asking why the camera was focusing on him even though he wasn't the big star he is today is cause he was still a teenager but competing in the Olympics, even if he was injured in that race it's still incredible he got there.

The man was injured. What sets him apart is his genes. I say this because you can adjust your work ethic and mindset, but when everyone does it doesn't set you apart anymore. I don't think any olympic athlete is not doing all those things you mentioned above.
@YwaA-jf1hl
@YwaA-jf1hl 3 жыл бұрын
Yes he did change his running style a bit and practiced loads but he was not at his healthiest for this Olympics as he had already clocked 20.13 prior to this Olympics at 200 so he could have medaled or been in the finals if he was healthy. Overall yes great nutrition and greater practice led him to his legendary status in latter years

This man has taught me a lot about hard work and enjoying the results, God bless him.

He got to about 20.0 for 200m......in 2007.....in 2008 he started taking juice.....popped 19.31 at the Olympics...in2009 19.19......Took juice (like almost all Jamaican sprinters did in 2008/2009).....It's just that juice worked for him more than it does for most.

Crazy!!! But soo motivational. He’d later set the new world record of 19:19 I think. I’m old enough to remember when Micheal set it. Even crazier he thought the person to break the record wasn’t born yet then US sprinter men and women’s. Dope

"9.58 bolt a champion" This line was meant to not be edited ever........I still remember when Ben Johnson said his 9.79 won't be broken in the next 50-100 years when he did it in 1988....
@nhlvan
@nhlvan 2 жыл бұрын
Bolt's 9.58 might actually be near the peak that any human can run 100m. The world record in 100m was beaten or matched almost yearly since the 60s and there's been nobody else, not even Usain Bolt himself, who's run below 9.69 since.
@justinexplainseverything1554
@justinexplainseverything1554 2 жыл бұрын
@@nhlvan So true, that 9.58 will be very tough to match or beat, it has been 12 years now since he set that record, the 2009 World Championships. But really, all 3 of his major World Records are going to be tough to beat.....the 9.58 100m.....the 19.19 200m and that legendary 2012 4x100 Relay time of 36.84, no team has ever even broken the 37 second mark in the 4x100 lol.
