@@waterproof4403 Bruh, Bolt is a bigger cheater then Gatlin ever was. Lol the Jamaican government sponsors the drug program for their track and field athletes. Prior to 2008 The men had never won any more than two gold medals at a single Olympics. They had only won a total of seven in the history of the Olympics. The women had never won any. Then all of a sudden in 2008 the men and women started dominating. By 2016 the men's domination was over. Had it not been for all the cheating the United States would have been dominating for like 20 or 30 years straight. I'm sure the Jamaicans are working on their next overly juiced Usain Bolt. Shelly and Frazier Pryce is getting faster at age 36 after having a child. That's laughable.

@KenpoKid77
@KenpoKid77 2 жыл бұрын
@Joe Bloggs You mention the rest of the world, but the rest of the track & field world knows about Jamaica's history very well. They've been competitive since 1948. Only USA has more total track medals. Average runner in Jamaica starts running in kindergarten, while the average American runner starts in high school. The Jamaican runner you see winning Olympics and Worlds events were the high schoolers who used to dominate against America in high school meets like Penn Relays in years past People in Europe knew about Usain Bolt's greatness since he was 16, while the U.S. casual viewers only started paying attention when they started losing to him the Olympics. In other words, a Jamaican sprinter testing positive for drugs would have made international news. The size of a country and its population has nothing to do with this. US lost in skateboarding to a 13-year old from Japan, another small island...so was he doping too?

I really enjoyed the way both Bolt and Gatlin responded to those questions. They showed, grace and a mutual respect. Congrats to Gatlin! It may have not been a big win but he still won this race. But to me what is more important than his win is the fact that he never gave up. And as a Jamaican I truly respect that! In the grand scheme of things Bolt did not lose. He STILL holds all the world records, he STILL has 19 GOLD medals and he STILL is the FASTEST man!! His legacy is certified. He is a true legend. I hope he enjoys his well deserved retirement. Nothing can compare to the sportsmanship, skill, talent, comedy, humility, dignity and joy that Bolt has brought to athletics. He will be greatly missed! Notice how they tried hard to drive a wedge between Bolt and Gatlin. That didn’t work. They tried painting Gatlin as the “bad boy”. He stopped the reporter in his tracks. Then one woman had the audacity to accuse the entire sport of doping. I was happy to see Bolt summarily shut her down, but I wish he had given a much stronger denunciation.

I think what is perfectly clear here is that the Media and the general public have absolutely no idea what it takes to be an athlete of this level in terms of mental and emotional strength. The assumption seems to be that two fierce competitors on the track can't have a professional and courteous relationship off the track. Clearly, Bolt and Gatlin talk and discuss issues behind the scenes. They are obviously on the same page n a way the press isn't expecting, as is evident from the way they interact with each other in this interview. The press seems to expect that they must hate each other. These two grown men are obviously more mature and professional than they are given credit for.

Bolt became the greatest track and field athlete of all time at the Beijing Olympics in 2008. The margins of his victories - and the ease of them, totally placed him on another level from all that preceded him and all that have followed him since. Add to that, his feats in subsequent years - and...!!!!!! He's the Muhammad Ali, the Pele, the Michael Jordan, the Roger Federer of athletics. That is not opinion, it is fact.

I am a big Usain Bolt fan. But I have so much respect for Justin Gatlin. He won. He no way deserves to be booed. I believe everyone in life deserves a second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh... and more chances (including 'YOU' that is reading this). Everybody that has been on this planet has done something wrong more than twice...

Ade Adegoke Gatlin has been caught twice with PED’s inside him and yes he’s done his bans etc but there should be something like a 3 strike rule or even two strike rule with in world athletics look what happens with British athletics ban to complete in the olympics after been found positive. Where no other country dont do what Britain does.

A logic like that which has a highly nuisances and open ended take on offenders being held held accountable and materially sanctioned for intentional cheating is highly problematic. It might be good posturing for a budding moralizer, but opens up the gates for abuse by the powerful or powerful backers. Obviously if the intention was to influence behavior The efforts of multiple light sanctionings failed.
