The Gaia has an OCXO clock which is higher quality than the SU-6 clock. That's what you get for the extra money, wish I could afford it.

Depending on the what output you use the SU6 does not have galvanic isolation whereas the Gaia has galvanic isolation with all outputs. Also, if you want to get the best from the SU6 you must use a good quality, low noise, linear power supply. Then the quality of the SU6 is much closer to the Gaia. But if you want to use the i2S O/P to your DAC then either choose the Gaia of get a separate galvanic isolator for the SU6. With this care I think the SU6 can be very close to the Gaia quality ( perhaps better ) and still for a cheaper price 🙂

You must provide scientific/quantifiable data to justify Gaia is better. Don't take me wrong - I have the denaflips stuff and even with external clock from Terminator Plus, according to the various jitter and noise measurements of both by GoldenSound, SU-6 clearly perform better.

@@QQ-td9id Sorry, the reason I am into HiFi is so I can subjectively enjoy listening to music so for me this is the ultimate test and you won't be getting any objective data from me. But I will say this. The SU6 is subjectively clearly not as good as the Gaia with the supplied switching PSU that the SU6 comes with.. With a quiet linear supply, the sound is good enough that I don't really care about objective data but I suspect that galvanic isolation from my desktop PC would make it even better ( so long as the device used to provide the isolation does not add jitter )

Hello, I own the su6 contented to pontus 2 . Considering upgrading the USB cable to high quality one, and wonder if it will improve the sound . any thoughts? tnx

This is not an easy subject. I had good experience with some usb cables, I do have an audioquest diamond and I love it, but the difference is very dependent on your PC. If the PC has problems with noise, this will probably be very apparent, especially with devices that don't have any galvanic isolation on the usb inputs. I have found there is a difference with devices like SU6, but not that big, especially if you don't have audible noise issues with your PC.

Hi Dan..! I am John rom Greece with ROCKNA Wavelight PRE/DAC new model 2024 modified with USB Galvanic Isolation of course...!! So , i want to ask you about DDC Singxer SU-2 that someone sell it used in discount ..! Is this wise to buy it and connect it from my laptops usb , and then to ROCKNA via I2s ...!!!! OR Not to spend the money to buy it and connect my laptop direct to ROCKNAs usb as it is Galvanic Isolated...!!!! Thank you Dan...

I have not tested the galvanic isolated version of the Wavelight usb input. I still think you might get some extra benefits from adding a singxer to the chain, but probably it won't be the same difference that I experienced.

@@HeadMania Dan , is it more wise to buy Singxer SU-6 instead of Singxer SU-2.!!!! For better sound ....!!!
