Why should the top 4 teams at the end of the season be at risk of losing their playoff spot when they have to play in their conference championship games? The lower ranked teams might get their spot because they have a bye?

TCU would lose to all 3 playoff teams. The Big 12 was weak this season. Texas, Baylor, Oklahoma, OSU all took a step backwards. If TCU loses they should be out.

I don’t get why Utah is in the PAC 12 championship at all, they finish in a 3 way tie for second and have a loss to one of the teams they’re tied with but they get to go to the championship game. So how does that work? Sounds like ‘Bama’ in 2011.

What we know.. if all win.. they all in top4 get to go If USC loses or TCU loses by more than a FG then OSU gets in If USC and TCU loses OSU and Bama gets in but Bama needs TCU to lose by 3 scores UGA has #1 spot unless they lose and UM wins. UM if they lose will stay in Top 4 cause they just beat #5 OSU even on blowout but if they lose big then even if USC or TCU loses, they might stay in cause makes OSU loss to UM look even worse.

If you going to lock these teams in now without them being challenged then just lock them in at the beginning of the year and kill the sport. Like you have with the SEC team favoritism which has made the conference boring. Thus, the need to trick OU and Texas in to joining the the SEC because team favoritism had resulted with viewing fall off. The CBF Playoffs are a fraud. How hard would it be to do this: If you win the Big 10, ACC, SEC, AAC, Big 12, MAC, Mountain West, PAC-12, C-USA & Sun Belt (You're In.) Then we take the remaining 6 highest ranked teams. It rewards you for playing consistent, excellent football. There have been years where arguably the BEST team may have been from one of the "weaker" conferences as they put ranked opponents out like a light. OSU, given the beating Michigan put them is getting a shot at some Utah earned. It is a damned disgrace. Make the dang thing 16 teams. Have the rounds based on performance and the vestigal homerism of polling and let's have a proper national champion. P.S. - Here's hoping every team that didn't win it's conference loses or Tennessee wins the whole thing just to screw with how unfair all of this still is.
