My Mom was born on his 28th bday. And I was born on his 53rd bday. Very proud to share the Day with such an amazing person.

He is so adorable and sweet. He was very honest about his feelings. I can't imagine what it must have been like for the Jews that had lived in Germany and whose families had been there forever. How do you reconcile the country you once loved and been so proud of, turning on you like that? Not that being persecuted in any of the other countries, (Poland, France, Czechoslovakia, etc) was any less horrible. But there must have been added layer of horror for the German Jews. Your own country doing you like that?? It must have felt like betrayal on every possible level.

Interviewers…please let these incredible people tell their stories! Everything they have to say is far more important than any question you feel you need to ask. When he hesitates to respond, it’s because he is THINKING, not because he does not understand your question-no need to repeat three times.

This interviewer was awful. I understood him better than her. She wasn't appropriate. Her voice drove me crazy. He was quite articulate. He didn't need this lousy interviewer. He could have just spoken on his own. Where do they get these terrible interviewers? Let the Survivors just tell their stories!
