What a tragedy that we have indeed forgotten. 2 million ukrainians have been deported to Russia without papers cell phone and their passports were destroyed. I can't imagine that they are "resettled" comfortably.

What an amazing life story; so inspirational. Stores like these should be shown in schools to continue to educate young people, who tend to know so little about history. We must do whatever we can so that we can prevent this from happening again.

I rewatched this one today and have to add to my observation from the last time, that the INTERVIEWER was marvellous! She never interrupted but very gently from time to time did step in to help refocus Mrs. Fintel as understandably so MANY things bubbled to the surface. One of the better interviewers in my opinion. Hope she was used in some of the other interviews as well. Absolutely a pleasure to have her input on this gravely important project !

I’ve watched many of these stories from this channel. One thing in common with many of these survivors is their will to survive. Many people didn’t have the will- which is honestly understandable. Yet so many of these people had a fire inside of them and showed more bravery and grit then we will ever comprehend.

What an unbelievable story that a child could survive years of starvation, freezing temperatures and loosing her beloved mother being shot while they were trying to escape from the Germans. Not only her mother was shot and killed, she was shot in the leg and head. She pretended to be dead beside her mother, was thrown into a pit with dead bodies and after the German soldiers left, she crawled out and headed toward a farm to try to get help. Her story is so inspiring and so thankful she was able to share her story of survival.

One of the most interesting testimonies and so well told. Poor little girl! Can you imagine your child having to go through all she endured? May all who deny the Holocaust be cursed and damned. Little do they realize that they actually prove the cruelty and callousness of people as they personify it, themselves. They continue to persecute the survivors on KZfaq, so frustrated that all they can do is write nonsense. Pitiful cowards!

@@redwater4778 You seriously need to do some research. The Eastern territory's the Soviets occupied were handed to them by Germany according to the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact in 1939. They were taken back by Germany when they declared war on The Soviet Union in 1941. Honestly, Another ignorant comment when you said Germany didn't want to be next. Germany and Russia were ALLIES until 1941, until Germany broke their non aggression pact and declared war on The Soviet Union. Please, rather than reply, get your facts straight.

Whenever I'm in doubt or disbelief how a woman could walk out of a Drs office, a sex offender in waiting, and find herself on an illegal police gangstalk camera, i turn to the survivors, and im reminded of that Bible passage, God was sorry he created man, when He saw the hardness of their hearts. A touching and devastating testimony. Besides, her behavour and attitude conveys beauty and intelligence.- We, the dumbed-down Germans, were told that it may be that you have to bear your cross yourself. Now we are paying for those committed atrocities which German society has to take resposibility for, by being wiped out by history. What if the immigrants who now invade Europe realize what a background our afluent democraty has? Overpopulation is also big in the news that war comes from it. Fertility is a never ending story.

I listened to this testimony earlier this year. It's the first one of these survivor interviews that recurs visually in my mind unbidden. These gifts are appreciated first because recalling them in this setting is a sacrifice. I'm sure anyone would rather not do so. It would be an effort not to love this person, though the reasons why are more difficult to verbalize than embrace. Another question: What is the reason some survive? Idk. Gentle people are so frequently the most resilient that there must be a reason. Is it because they think so little of their own self that no outrage defeats them? She has a dignity I remember in my Mom. They know evil exists, they experienced the violence of men, they would never respect it or be overwhelmed by it.
