Hello Derek, thank you for the content of your videos, very useful. I wanted to ask, is it possible to lower one cone 10 recipe to a same result cone 6 recipe using glazy calculator?

Great feature! That means I can do a flux test more easily. I keep the analysis the same, I only change the flux and glazy calculates a recipe for me. I did this manually before but now the calculation will be much more fast. Thanks! And the feature at 4:14 is so clever!

Amazing feature! Surely worth paying for. In the end you say cone 10 might be too high. Though I did a workshop on glazes, temperature still confuses me a bit. Doesn't the position on stull give a good indication to wether it fires well as a cone 10 glaze?

Hi Clarence, one of the problems with the Stull chart is that it doesn't indicate glaze maturation temperature. Generally, the higher in alumina and silica, the higher the temperature needed to melt the glaze. However, the types of fluxes, inclusion of boron, and influence of eutectics also play a role. It's a complicated topic. But with experience, you can look at the chemistry and location on the Stull chart and guess the approximate temperature. Some people use "limit formulas" which you can display within the Glazy calculator, but these are not very accurate. I often do comparisons with glazes for which I know the maturation temperature. I'm working on a solution to this issue. But it requires a lot of testing and won't be release for a while....

If you obtain a chemical analysis for the glaze, you should be able to reproduce it. But "speckles" might require a specific material.

@@derekau533 am not sure I can do that it was discontinued years ago but I will try. Do they not keep such things a secret from their rivals?
