Just wanna say I appreciate your channel you are definitely underrated, but definitely extremely helpful. Thanks

The hardest thing to replace or upgrade is the exhaust only because you have no idea what it will sound like until you actually replace it! I settled on a Invidia mid-pipe and #Q300 axle back on my 007 IS350.

I heard adding a mid pipe will open up the sound a bit more. Axle backs alone are rather tame.
@jeffgrantIS350 Жыл бұрын
@@Jedi_Luke Yes. As you know the mid-pipe opens up the airflow coming from the manifolds alowing Moore air to flow through quicker. Just as you did when you modified the air intake tube. The Axel back is obviously wider then the stock pipe and the mufflers are slightly larger.

@@jeffgrantIS350 Yep that's correct. I didn't go that route because I still want a daily that's not too loud and something my fiancee can drive. An axle back is perfect for someone just wanting sound only at WOT and a near stock sound for normal driving.

That axle back sounds great ! I can only imagine the catback exhuast will have similar results on my gs350 , thanks for this video and with headphones it helped a lot to determine I’ll probably get the catback installed first then see how I feel about it

Yeah I stuck with just the axle back. It gave a bit more aggressive sound over stock without being too crazy loud. Basically the axle back lets me get loud when I drive it hard, but quiet when I have my kids or old father in law in the car. People with that wide open exhaust just have to deal with loud ALL the time lol

@@Jedi_Luke Your video along with a few others is what made me make the decision of installing the "Speed Daddy" axle back last year. I wanted a little added sound over stock, and that is what I got for my IS250 - with a vibrant resonator. Before the axle back, I tried doing a muffler delete (with the vibrant resonator), and it was too annoying for my commute. It sounded great, almost like a GT-R - but the noise and long commute was unbearable. I'm glad I fixed that right away with the axle back. Just enough sound to play with the paddle shifters, and be subtle as well! Only wish it was slightly deeper of a sound. But for the price, I'm happy, and it doesn't break the bank.

@@125RickC Definitely agree. If it's a track car or weekend only car then whatever sounds a person wants is fine. But for a daily it should be a little more tame and pleasant on the ears. Some dudes ride around with straight pipes and I don't know how they do it. That would drive me crazy lol

@Jedi_Luke how was the build quality? Did the metal feel thin or flimsy? How what the finish? Thanks!
@Jedi_Luke Жыл бұрын
Build quality was fine, welds and all. Metal feels solid. Chrome finish was nice and shiny polished. Like I said at the end of the video, my only complaint was a slight rattle coming from the inside of one of the mufflers on cold starts. That could've just been the particular axle back that I ordered. I would hope they all don't do that. For the price tho I'm satisfied.

Does the axelback have more or less drone than no mufflers?
@Jedi_Luke Жыл бұрын
Much less than no mufflers. No mufflers is the worst. Very loud, but hurts preformance and the drone is annoying.

What brand exhaust is this? If you can remember, Thanks!

I think it was called "Speed Daddy" on eBay. It was around $250. Make sure you read all the text in the video. Thanks for watching.

Awesome! Thank you so much, my brain is fried after checking and listing all good exhaust setups under $600. :)

@@nimmord.12 Yeah I wasn't about to spend that much for hardly any HP gains. Plus I didn't want to be annoyingly loud. I like this axle back because it's quiet for normal driving, but you hear it when you really step on it.

Did the speed daddy axelback affect your performance any? Less torque?
