Use L-system for infinite path loops in Touchdesigner

In this tutorial we'll have a look at how we can use a Lindenmayer System (L-SystemSOP) for generating a flythrough tunnel in Touchdesigner. It covers how you can set up your camera to follow a path and create a sense of an infinite sci-fi loop.
Furthermore some intermediate techniques with SOPs (sweepSOP), LookAts, PathSops which opens up a whole lot of possibilities!

Thank you very much! It's a great tutorial. I really liked doing it and adore the result, I've always been a big fan of the aesthetics of 80's videogames. I've also learned a lot, it's very inspiring. I had a little problem at the end, with the thumbnail in the corner, when switching between paths camera two was not in the correct position for all L-Systems, but I fixed it with a table, following your example to change the radius of the circle. Really enjoyed this tutorial. I am very grateful.

Thanks for sharing - I added billboards along the route and shared in my Instagram - hard coded the positions but I'm sure there is a better one to calculate where I can put them.

Is it possible to generate the path incrementally vs. having to generate the entire tunnel in advance?

I would do that differently, try looking for 'noise loop tunnel', I believe paketa12 and polyhop has a tutorial about it.

@4:48 my sweep does not look like yours its filled in I can't see the outline like yours. Maybe there has been an update to touchdesigner since you posted this video. I carefully followed your instructions and code.

Difficult to tell, if you continue the tutorial to the render part, does it output correctly?

@@FactorySettings No it's a differn't orientation than yours when I try to adjust the view with rmb it glitches out and I can't get the correct view but at the same time the geo its completely filled in I can't even tell its an L-system. This is at 7:08

@@ValidPlacebo Which view are you trying to adjust? The camera? Because if you do it like that, all the camera values are going to change. You usually don't adjust the camera like that, use the transform page of the cam1.

Merci, I will give it a try... Done, I will try to make a PS4 controller for the movement... May I ask what are the values for the other two Lsystems is that for patreons only?

@@FactorySettings I meant the angle, and the generations... on the Lsystem OP it self, I got the first one to give me the exact shape just like yours but I wasn´t able to do it with the other two. P.S: Once I get a Job I will become a patreon, you guys have help me improve so much.
