Maybe you can find this tip useful for elevating your livestreams using a Nikon D5200 /5300 camera.
Whether you’re just starting to try out livestreaming or you’ve been doing it for quite some time this guide will help you setup your camera together with third-party software and hardware.
The output of this setup can be used in various conferencing apps like Skype, Zoom, Team and Google meet.

Hi, i found this Video again ;) I have an OBS a black border around the whole picture. The red line in OBS is the edge of the video, for me there is a black frame around the whole picture within the red line, but not for you here. What can I do ?

Found the solution: it disappears by pressing that info button on the right upper side of the camera.

@@carlodominicariola5199 You might have to press it more than once. It cycles between 3 or 4 different info display modes. You want the one which causes most of the info to disappear. The red square will still appear on the camera's live view, but it won't be transmitted to your capture card.

Unfortunately i do not think there's a work around so every 30 minutes you need to restart the clock. But you get used to it.

Whenever I click the firmware update link you're providing, it just opens a window and closes. No firmwares are downloading anymore from that link.

Anyone know how to get around/reduce/remove the latency this introduces? If you try to have audio from a mic it'll be almost instant but the video probably wont be able to keep up. I think this can also be seen in this video during the snapping/testing. Ideally you'd want audio and video synced

Hi I tried your method, only difference is I don't have the power supply so I tried on battery, but now my Live View is not working. I am able to go to settings and other things. Do you know the reason for this ?

Never mind, it is just because the battery is low, I tried with another battery which is fully charged and the Live View came back online and also it is available in OBS too.. thank you for the information :)

Hello. Do you know why my d5200 camera shuts down on it's own? I've done the 15 min limit will disgard, and it works fine, but then after 1,5 hours it just suddenly closes, and won't put the shutter mode on again. Is it because it's overheating? Or is it because I don't have external power supply for the camera? How do I fix it? Thank you!

Hi, I've followed the steps but do not see an update option in my camera's settings, I've been able to successfully update my firmware to 1.02, the update option showed and I updated but for some reason my camera is not recognizing this new updated bin file for the 15 min liveview patch, any ideas why the update option might not be showing? No sir, the webcam utility is not compatible to lower versions including D5500. Fastest Work around is use a video capturecard and hookup uour camera and use OBS software.

@@QuraiRyu I was able to get it to work. Thank you so much!! Curious, I noticed a 2-3 delay in the audio sync with the video when I recorded a sample. The audio is coming from USB plugged into the camera. Could this be the cause of the audio delay? Do you recommend plugging the audio output directly into the camera to get the audio to sync better with the video?

Hey. Im using obs with atem mini pro because im operating two cameras. one of which is nikon d5200 and other is sony xd70. But problem is on OBS screen XD70 is showing full frame size, but when i switch camera, the resolution of d5200 is smaller. It appears as a smaller video. How do i fix that?

I think the difference is the resolution. Try checking the frame size if it can be adjusted.

Do I have to use OBS to Zoom or can I just select the camera in Zoom? Is there a danger of damaging the camera from overheating with unlimited live view time? Lao, you forgot to j3ntion that this patch is just for Windows.

Enable virtual camera in OBS. On zoom select OBS virtual camera. For overheating havent tried it yet I only use it not more than 3hrs. In an airconditioned room, I think over heating is not an issue. Yes I forgot to mention only works on windows. 👍🏻

Once Firmware patch is applied the 15min limit will be disregarded. You can stream as long as you like.

Did you connect your Camera to your PC via USB? If yes, you are doing it wrong sir. This tutorial uses the HDMI output of the camera to connect to a video capture card. Then the video capture card is then connected to the PC via USB. Alternatively if my understanding of your question is incorrect, and you are using the HDMI output of your camera to your PC you can try first too. Connect Mini HDMI cable to your Camera, Connect the other end of the HDMI cable to your TV > power on your camera > enable live mode. If the video from your camera does have an output to your TV the process is correct. to Output the video to your PC, you can now connect the HDMI cable to your video capture card > connect the capture card to your PC. Hope this helps sir.
