how do you deal with background colour in the header if the SafeAreaView causes a gap?

I'm using expo and on my android it's on the statusbar what could be the issue.

I am not using SafeAreaView but still I am unable to use that notch fullWidth area on Android (Physical device). do you think android doesnt let us to use that notch area by default for some reason? or Do you think its something wrong with my device? Grt content btw. Your videos so simple and informative. Gonna recommend my fellow beginner devs to your channel whenever I get the chance

What's the difference between statusbar and SafeAreaView? I think both are the same things? and SafeAreaView only works for IOS. and one more question should I use statusbar or safeareaview?

Thanks for the question! Answer: "Depends" :) If you don't plan to render a full screen anywhere in your app, use at the root. If you do however intend to render full screen somewhere, then use safe area view on the screens that are not fullscreen
