Aw thank you so much ☺️ yes! Great substitute for gold cardstock for embellishments and you get a much more faux metal look. The butterfly with all the small bits in real life looks like matte or sprayed metal and if you use large flakes it does look more polished and variegated! There's absolutely no end to uses with flakes, just get them out and play you will soon be experimenting yourself. I keep a separate tub of all the left over flakes as trying to get them back in the main tub can be 😅 I have small tubs (baby food pots) that I opened up flakes into and work from these at least if you breath of sneeze it's not a major issue 🙃 Double sided tape, tape pens and two way glue pens- zig, nuvo, sakura quickie are all good ways to add flake accents to stamps, prints ect too. Above all have fun x

I haven't tried that myself but I am sure you could! It might be a bit tricky to use the scootchy to buff it up if the double sided tape wasn't already adhered to come card but it's worth a try of you don't have any tacky glue! Thank you so much for watching and commenting too ☺️

Yes it works just fine. I think less messy, I don't use scoochy I just use a soft brush to buff flakes as that's what we did with our Calligraphy gold leaf. It works better than scoochy I don't like it. All personal taste though.

I think as crafters we go through phases and play with one thing all the time then put it away and forget about it for a while. I am completely new to gilding flakes so I've been trying to think of other creative ways to use them, I think no techniques are ground breakingly new as most techniques have been done before in one way or another or people adapt them. It was a new technique for me but one I was sure probably has been done before. I actually love the effect the small fragments gave, almost like a brushed or sprayed metal. Definitely worth using them up like that for faux metal embellishments. Glad you enjoyed watching ☺️

I watch late at night and don't always check the spellchecker. As I have recently developed shaky hands........no matter how I hold fingers, I get letters in the wrong pla e and totally different worlds seem to appear. Also the grammar gets changed because I've not noticed. Was blown away to hear you are new to gilding flakes. Most crafters don’t get to using the grotty bits at the end. Like you, I. Iike to use bits to the very end. Agree with you how colours from the bits looked, looked like brushed gold metal. They are also rather good for small streaks and feathery parts that makes things look marble. Have signed up so I don't miss any of your new adventers. Happy crafting and thank you for sharing. The starter kits are a great way to try gilding flakes without buying a big tub. I definitely recommend giving them ago. I personally have found those coloured flakes to be a real nightmare to work with as they are so super static and I got in such a mess with them. I recommend traditional coloured larger flakes. You can get silver or bronze if you're not into gold but the dyed coloured flakes are enough to put anyone off using gilding flakes sadly 😟 let me know how you get on! Happy crafting ☺️
