@@deojnwedofuWEactually the voice recognition gets him perfectly, it’s just the words said, the AI latches onto certain things and not others. I’ve seen streamers talk in broken Japanese and the ai translated and understood it perfectly

You can actually “show” stuff to the ai if they ask you. You can just say like “*shows really beautiful expensive golf clubs” and they play along.

I'm working on a game that has even deeper integration than this now, challenge is most computers cannot run the models so they have to run in the cloud. That's a running cost which people hate for games. This game for instance, only has about 50 hours of playtime worth of credits -- after that you literally cannot interact with the AI anymore.

Daily reminder that Tom is an amazing person and to thank him for all he has done/will do - Day 1515 Oh sweet :D, I've been seeing this game alot recently and thought it looked really cool, never expected to see Tom play it, but my god am I glad he did XD the whole concept of the game is so cool and honestly really fits Tom's style of improve XD I for one would love to see another episode, complete the 31 meals, and definitely got to try that Steampunk Hat (I agree that the outfits are real goofy and fun) Ok, the "That's So Raven" edit got me XD ha ha Awww, Carol is really sweet and lovely, such a shame she had to die, Regine on the other hand XD ha ha, a menace

How the fudge is it possible that Tommy Tomtom can basically tell the AI 3 times the same thing and been let in WITHOUT asking to be let in? Like with the golf clubs: "I have golf clubs." "I have golf clubs, but fancy." "If you have eyes, you see that I have golf clubs." Done!? This can only work if the AI had pity on Tom.

I didn't get this game because it says that based off the fact it's using an AI license key the playtime is limited without purchasing another key and it put me off but really a lot of games have subscriptions etc and am I going to pass 40 hours in this game? Probably not, heck Tom you've convinced me.

I'd guess it's pretty easy to manipulate from what I know about this kind of system. Large Language Models are basically trained to roleplay or 'act' to a scenario, and generally have difficulty distinguishing one set of statements (in this case the scenario and character profile they were given by the game before the conversation started) from another (the lines they are reacting to), though apparently recent versions have improved this. Regardless, LLMs have no real concept of 'truth' or 'reality', only what 'sounds plausible' given how well it fits in with the other text in their 'briefing' and the conversation itself, according to the 'experience' encoded in their training data. As a result, they tend to be... extremely gullible, prone to doing complete 180s on things given enough pushing, in addition to 'hallucinating' extra made-up details to clean up what they perceive as loose ends that need expanding. But in a game like this with minimal continuity and an expectation of gullibility it kind of works, or at least it WOULD work well if you could run the models locally on reasonable hardware. Unfortunately, stuff like this currently typically needs network links to power-hungry and privacy-questionable outside servers, that tend to be expensive to maintain.

This is a definite benefit of the proliferation of machine learning. There's a video from CallMeKevin about a game called Vaudeville that has a similar gimmick. It's a murder mystery game where you speak to the NPCs and they interpret your responses and answer as their character. This seems to have better voice recognition and the graphics are 'better'. But, as an open-world fan, I'm really interested in how these kinds of things will push that sort of genre. For instance, there's a Skyrim mod which makes NPCs interactive in this same way. You can speak to them (...delay...) and they will respond as their preset character.

In the game's TOS it says they are using GPT and Lambda which means they're probably using stolen content. Great video on your part as always, Tom, but there's a reason Valve have been apprehensive around using generative AI in 'original' games. Cool concept and implementation, but I'd love to see copyright holders get their fair share out of this unregulated boom.

The Idea of conversational AI sounds cool, but man this game's gameplay loop just seems super boring and seemly requires the player to basically make all their own fun with it. like all the fun of this video comes from tom and nothing that the game is actually doing
