The Curve loks like something I'd add to my desk for space management and the Blockhead is a must a well especially when travelling and using hotel outlets. Thanks for the info!

my problem with sleeves like that is that if its easy to pop your macbook out, nothing is stopping it from falling out of the sleeve when you don't want it to

I bought the icon from incase for my new 15" and I love it. Best sleeve you can buy.

still use the first icurve that came out years ago for my laptop. I think it's more elegant since you don't notice it as much with clear plastic than the dark metal stand.

If I am getting a new MBP, I would go with the 2015 model, as it is the last MBP that is rated high in repairability, as it is easy for advanced users to repair themselves instead of taking it to a repair shop and shelling out their entire wallet for a simple fix/upgrade. Compared to MBP these days, everything is soldered in and canNOT be upgraded very easily by the at-home advanced user and if it can, will be very costly!

Believe it or not I'm actually quite impressed with the Magic Mouse 2 even though its nothing new for Mac.....I like the track pad on my MacBook but have been a little frustrated with dragging and dropping things...I was going to look at a wireless gaming mouse for ergonomics and functionality but at the end of the day I went with the Magic Mouse 2.....I am very satisfied....a bit of a premium price for the space gray color but overall satisfying. The gestures are neat and quite functional. the click quite good. I was very surprised to be satisfied.

As warm as my MacBook Pro 13" gets, does a docking station (either of the two you review here, or anything similar) positively affect cooling? I am not afraid for an instantaneous failure, rather aging accelerated by temperature (at the price of a MacBook, I am planning on keeping my mine for a l-o-n-g time). Finally, I have an external HD (for which I bot the appropriate patch cord) so that I can transfer files from my work computer (Dell) to my home computer (MacBook). Also being paranoid about backups, this enables me to have something in addition to the iCloud.

The ICON Sleeve with Diamond Ripstop for MacBook Pro 15"- Thunderbolt (USB-C) unfortunately does not fit in the laptop pocket of the Incase ICON Slim Pack Backpack.

I’m desperately looking for a briefcase style highly padded face for my very expensive 15 inch MacBook Pro. As I am legally blind it is a little difficult for me to see online they are highly padded. I’m not really wanting it to hold anything else - just the MacBook! If anybody has any ideas could you pleasehelp me: as I literally saved for 3 1/2 years to buy this computer so I want to well protected... Cheers

The Blockhead really doesn't seem that useful. You shouldn't be plugging the power brick directly into the wall. There's a reason we have surge protectors.
@PocketUau

Let's be real, Apple already expects people to walk around with an army of dongles, so why would anyone walk around with a massive surge protector in their bag?

Why you don't distinguish thunderbolt 3 ports apart of usb-c? Not everything is just an usb-c.

One thing, cousin Dan... screen space should be called "un-real estate". I've been using this term for years, and just haven't had a platform to publicize it. Aside from that, awesome tips! I use most of them with my 2016 MBP, and I assume they're all applicable to 2017's, too.

The dock arc (current gen) is horrible. It's too light and the rubber lip doesn't fit the arc like the older designs and falls off. Stay away from it.

Is it really? Why do you say that?
@allansh828
@allansh828 6 жыл бұрын
@@yannispapanastasopoulos They use low end parts but put a premium price tag on it. A lot of people complain about the quality of it. Many negative reviews under the product page in Apple's website and many others. It's just not worth it. If you want a shock resistant storage, just get a SSD.

I have several lacie drives including 2 rugged sand they have been quite reliable for many years. The drives in mine were all Seagate Pro type drives. What personal experience do you have with them?
@allansh828
@allansh828 6 жыл бұрын
@@RyanDeLaHaye Two out of two of my Seagate drives failed before. Lacie doesn't even use high end drives. And those rugged drives are way too overpriced. And mechanical hard drives are too noisy for me. I need my setup to be dead silent at idle. I would much prefer use SSD only.

I’ve been using a Lacie Rugged FireWire like forever with no issues at all. SSD for the computer, HDD for external massive storage 👍🏼

The fact the we now need such accessories is real mac's problem. Why in the name of God this people don't want to put a SSD card reader by default? Why then don't want to preserve USB type ports as usual, HDMI?, really no need for dongle fever, just keep messing around with the ports, build bigger screens with no plastic on top, drop the butterfly keyboard and put a real keyboard there (check X1 Carbon if you need an example) and keep going. Really Apple is a nice machine, or maybe is better to say that it was a nice machine... not anymore.
