totally agree. The poor girl has an allergy. She would have been better off with my reaction to alcohol. One drink and I vomit it back up. That would quickly cause those jerks to behave themselves.

Except for the fact that she could say no at any time. They didn't hold her mouth open. Yes, they were complete a$$holes, I agree. And it's a terrible scenario to be in for work and business dealing where if you don't drink it's an insult.. But until people in the Asian culture learn to say "No, screw you, I'm not drinking $hit", this practice will continue for generations. It drives me absolutely nuts.

This is part of Asian business culture that I do not understand. Bullying and humiliating women is not okay. I do not care about social structure or class. This is unacceptable behavior.

It's not just Asian culture. It's part of all cultures. I'm a woman and African American and have been in my industry for 4 years. I have to tell people several times a week that I know what I'm doing. Including the people I work with when they butt their noses in when I'm helping a customer. And I have no problem telling them as much. I had to do that last Saturday with my manager and another lady I work with. They were both left looking stupid and I told them this is the only time I plan on having this conversation. Their response was " so everything we heard about you was true". I said " I don't suffer fools and I know what I'm doing and I know how to make money. Just ask my last boss I left because they weren't paying me enough and I made them a quarter of a million dollars in one year during a pandemic. So yeah everything you heard is true." I said all that it doesn't matter the country or the culture men are under the impression that women are less than. No matter how hard we work.

No this isn't part of Asian culture... I guess your geography and basic social knowledge is limited.. Asia is a vast area... In India very limited of woman drink, those who do will do that with friends or family... Work culture isn't like this and POSH is a big thing... If a colleague even send texts to another colleague be it a man or woman and it's without their consent and harrassing than they can file POSH against them... The person found guilty may be terminated and the one who has filed complaint maybe given leave with pay while investigation goes .. have worked in MNCs Men do try to flirt around, even seniors are worst they think any girl would like to hang out with them as they have a position in organisation... But still if a lady doesn't wants to she can deny, none will pressurize her neither she will be bothered

Everything else aside, i have a serious problem when someone is being forced to drink when it is obvious that the person doesn't want to drink, cannot handle a drink or is going to be sick drinking. As a matter of fact, in this scene, it is not social drinking anymore for the sake of getting deals, but putting a woman out of her comfort zone already since the signs of obvious distress from drinking is there. The group is obviously putting her in a difficult situation, carelessly. What's even worse is that there are other women there who just kept quiet in seeing this.

It seems that it is being promoted and advertised as a norm ( Asian culture, or not). It gives a bad impression on the businesses operating these places and the people who are running it.

I had the same issue with a similar scene in The Love You Give Me (2023) were a boss is getting a 20ish year old new secretary drunk when she doesn't want to drink, when everyone at the table knows what his intentions are as is always sexually harassing women. One of the other women who had previously avoided being assaulted herself literally says she needs to learn to handle it herself. I was like erm WTF she only steps in when a drink is spilt as she was leaving.

Заставлять пить человека с аллергией это все равно, что убить его. Неужели в Китае это так распространяется. Или это выдумки сценаристов. И вообще, что за дебилизм заставлять человека пить, называя это проявлением уважения. А если человек не пьёт совсем или у него не усваивается алкаголь и что, он должен угробить себя чтоб доказать, как он уважает? А тогда где уважение к нему самому?

во многих дорамах , не только китайских, но и корейских вижу это. вообще тема алкоголя какая- то нездоровая там. то выпей, даже если не можешь, не хочешь или вообще нельзя, но пей, иначе провалишь переговоры, сделку и т. д. то давай посоревнуемся, кто кого перепьет. то давай выпью за тебя, но отказываются, сами пьют, даже если не могут. выпить за другого это значит навесить на него какой-то долг? редкая дорама без напившихся до соплей гг-ев, а уж про второстепенных и говорить не стоит напиваются второстепенные не по разу. а раньше говорили, что самая пьющая нация- русские. то ли ошибались, то ли намеренно врали.

Ну и сюжет, капец, что нельзя отказать? Если правда аллергия, ведь можно же и умереть, у меня случай на работе был, шеф повар получила высший технический диплом и проставилась водкой. А я водку не пью, так меня как только не заставляли, говорили значит я не желаю счастья и успеха ей, не могу с ними порадоваться за неё, я сказала пусть считают как хотят и ушла заниматься своими делами. Тут я просто не пью, просто вкус не нравится, а у неё аллергия, чем она думала, рисковать своей жизнью, чтобы угодить другим, это не правильно. Почти во всех дорамах такое, угождают другим, причиняя себе неудобства и вред.
