The uncountable scenes of the author insulting their own culture totally mind-blowed me. But, I totally appreciate that the author makes FL ends up divorcing her husband. This drama also makes it confusing to see each character's real rank of nobility due to the way they talk disrespectfully to each other. If the translation is right FL is a princess, the husband (I'd consider him as MV) is a duke, ML is a prince and FV.... idk her rank. Is she a concubine from what kind of family? The first time FV gets caught trying to slander FL, a princess, for adultery could cause her a whipping penalty or even death. How can she get away with it 4 TIMES!!!! LOL there are several scenes where MV suddenly comes in when FL and ML are having a meeting, he even tries to slap FL in front of ML.... in Chinese culture, doing those two in front of a prince is very impossible, co it means disrespect to the prince. MV has to wait for FL to get home first to do whatever he wants, not in front of a prince. And how come in every banquet the FV is the one who sits beside MV and not FL as his main wife? FL has to sit on MV's right side, and if MV is a concubine, she'll sit beside MV's left side, or on FL's right side. The eldest prince is just as concerning.... to make it short, a prince needs the Emperor's approval to get married. Especially the eldest, their marriage mostly for political reasons and a widow kinda impossible to get through layers of requirements
