Can someone explain to me how he didnt get stunned? Even Daigo expected the stun at 8:40 where he dropped his combo because he thought he was gonna be stunned. Thats the match right there.

I know this is four years later, but... Abel's hp pool is high (not Hugo high). But his stun level is even higher. Also, he used a couple of focus blocks which reduce the still level a bit. If Evil Ryu had farted in his general direction, he would have been stunned. But this is a reason I love SF4 more than 5... The subtle intricacies.

Funny seeing all the fanboys make excuses for Daigos loss, Strider outplayed him. Did you not see those whiff punishes? The reads on the uppercuts? The backdash at the end? Well done to Strider, one of the most underrated players in the US.

I know this is 4 years ago but the reason why they say this is because at the end daigo was supposed to get a stun on strider but the stun for some reason isn't there thus causing daigo to lose

Those dragon punches were what killed Daigo. Reversals like that are high risk, low reward and he just happened to use those two at the worst possible time, giving Strider the edge. An amazing matchup though. Respect to both players.

Skisonic is one of the worst commentators out there. He's constantly talking, but never actually relaying any useful or correct information about the game/match. He defines the term "empty words". He doesn't even have good game knowledge like James or David, Skisonic is wrong about everything. He is also heavily opinionated, biased, and talks over other commentators. And to top it all off, he isn't funny or entertaining. Most of the time hes just running a train of fragmented sentences that don't relate to each other at a pace so fast and longwinded hes the only voice you hear for a straight minute. I think its safe to say most people share my loathing for the earsore that is Skisonic. Please Capcom, please don't let this guy commentate anymore. I would actually pay money, to gain access to a separate stream feed where I don't ever have to hear Skisonic again. He isn't cut for the job, and never will be.

Daigo fanboyism is in full effect Lol. Daigo has been one of my favorite players to watch since the SF Alpha days, but my goodness it seems ever since he got bopped by Poongko in EVO2011 people have been making excuses for him whenever he loses. Daigo can mash DP just like any online scrub can and he has done it multiple times before. Why the hell are people not accepting he just lost fair and square to a really good Strider801. Strider doesn't travel to many tournaments but is a heavy hitter when does. "Daigo was just playing around with him at the end wthat's why he lost" or "Daigo was totally sandbagging" seriously Lol? Also stop biching about USA chants, they aren't going anywhere and if you think it's embarrassing then you'll just have to deal with it.

Lemme sum this 4 years old comment section up, 15% - daigo fanboys saying sand bagging 30% - people hating on USA chant 15% - people talking about how daigo didn’t stun last round 30% - people hating on fanboys 10% - people enjoying the match Honest opinions, daigo is skilled but a skilled player doesn’t mean they don’t lose, and strider is also a skilled player. I think he gave 801 enough respect already, just watch how much spacing he has to maintain during the game, that he had to walked back to the corner. Although it did kinda look like he was sure he's gonna win that last round sigh..801 is amazing in the top 8, im kinda glad Daigo lost to him.

+Lionheart Mind Explosion Daigo is an Instinctive Player, and Instinctive Players such as Daigo have a tendency to do that. He got the Nickname "Umi Shoryu" Because He would do random Shoryuken's out of a nowhere and in many cases, it would work for him, because he believed/felt that it was right. Even in an interview in another match where he did like 3-4 Shoryuken's randomly and got punished for it he said "Because It Felt Right." Many Abel's are not as patient 801 Strider and I'm "assuming" that Daigo thought Strider to be one of those players, however it turned against him. Once again, Daigo didn't throw it away, he simply read the situation wrong and paid for it.
