With this commitment at the forefront of everything we do, our Global Design Centre (GDC) was formed.
Global Design Centre provides support to the groups manufacturing mills and project management teams, while leading technical guidance towards rope design, product improvement and R&D activities. Based within, Northern Italy, at the heart of industrial activity, GDC is strategically placed to coordinate our efforts towards quality assurance and continuous improvement. In addition, GDC is responsible for all strategic marketing objectives, including product & market development, application engineering and life cycle optimisation.
With an onsite laboratory and expansive testing area, including various sophisticated electronic microscopes, GDC is perfectly equipped to carry out a range of tests and in-depth analyses on steel wire ropes. Use of the information gathered during these investigations enables GDC to function as an additional support centre regarding inspection and installation services.
Years of knowledge and experience in the wire rope industry has resulted in GDC delivering many training sessions based around rope properties to numerous Usha Martin Group customers around the globe. Not only working in close cooperation with our customers, GDC has formed relationships with a number of professional bodies and technical workgroups providing support.
