2004 is when this song came out for you young people here. It's great to see a lot of you watch the Super Bowl and then end up finding great music a lot of us grew up enjoying. I was 19 turning 20 when this song came out. It's hard to believe that I am 39 turning 40 for the 20th anniversary of this song. Damn, I feel so old reading these comments from kids who got confused at the intro to this song. Go listen to his album young people. You won't be disappointed. Make sure you listen to Confessions remix, Red Light, and Seduction as bonus tracks. I remember buying both the original and the one with bonus tracks.

Nah, don't feel old. We grew up in a special time and that feeling is a gift. 2004 was the ish, I remember I didn't want that year to end so was '03, 02', 01 & 00. So many bangers and the music videos with the old school video vixens and romantic storylines. I'm from the UK so imagine my anger when I realised seduction (or red light) wasn't on my album- that's literally my favourite Usher song to date, Confessions being his best album imo.

They definitely do, but they aren't mainstream and aren't usually played on the radio often, you just have to know where to look.

That's right. In the 50s, 60s and 70s, R&B had to fit into what was acceptable to the majority (James Brown and Sly were the rare exceptions). Now, there is a lot more artistic freedom by all artists of color. For white R&B artists as well. :)
