She was looking beautiful but that was clearly indian look.. Only problem is that don't call it pakistani look when clearly it is not...the way the dupatta was draped, matha patti and we have a varmala ritual..so it is not about the color but the way whole look was put together..But the trolling and bashing was unnecessary

I think the choora and the warmala in addition to the blouse style and the matha patti together gave an Indian look. Like all these things are worn by Pakistani brides too but everything together gave an Indian look

You can disagree with her ( Maria B) statements or stance on the topic, but why are you bringing her past and insulting her that way. Sorry, but I think the insults were on a personal level. Everyone makes mistakes and regert them. What has that got to do with what she said about the scene from the drama. To be fair, there is so much confusion and debate on this topic these days. It's a touchy topic. Especially what's going on in the Western world. I don't blame her for reacting this way. If you disagree, then you should give your viewpoint and educate the people. Assuming you have something wise to say.

Let me clarify this : I live in Toronto . Tons of Indians here. Ushna was dressed up entirely in an Indian inspired outfit. Choli are Indians brides wear . Indian Punjabi brides wear red bangles on their wedding day. Infact indian newly weds wear red bangles at least for 2 to 3 weeks. There was nothing as a Pakistani bride in ushna on her day. Having said this, I do not care if she shows her midrif , dances or whatever , but she should have some sense to represent herself properly as she’s a pk celebrity.

Below average hygiene index, lack of sanitation, lack of sewage system and waste disposal plants and hete we are discussing what a bride wear to her wedding? Seriously? Ushna didn't like some guests who didn't follow her rules of her wedding, does she or infact even other people ever ponder that Allah rabbul izzat is the Lord, The creator, The provider of the entire universe and He has set a our boundaries, certain rules to follow, and He has constantly since the first day has sent numerous messengers to repeatedly stop us from breaking His rules!!!! Does Allah not dislike when we break His rules!! While we being humans dislike when our rules are broken!! There was nothing in ushnas wedding that was " personal or private "!! Pakistani public infact muslim people who watch ushnas dramas and such other celebs dramas have every single right to comment not just on their work but also if they behave in an inappropriate way breaking Allah's rules! When such people violate Pakistani culture, norms and faith yes the public has its right to comment and try to stop such vulgarity!!! Ushna and such other celebs they live in Pakistan, sleep in Pakistan, eat off Pakistan, earn from Pakistani and from muslim community watching their shows, last but not the least marries PAKISTANI golfer ( mother is autrian but we all know father se religion aur nasab chalti hai) then yes Pakistani and general muslim community has every right to comment and remind such people of what they're ignoring!! There's no prophet coming after Muhammad s.a.w , so it's the ummahs responsibility to stop such disgust to that extent!!! Yes I'm Canadian too, just like ushna but I have not seen a single muslim wedding where there's this much fahashi even in canada!! She dressed in such an exposed bridal attire, more shockingly it's from Pakistani designer!! Vulgar dancing on bollywood songs!! If such nuisance is going to take place, if Pakistani norms and it's islamic values will be violated yes people have every right to say no on Pakistani grounds!! I just fail to understand if such celebs want to do such things go ahead to a country that dsnt have such norms!! But ofcourse such celebs ain't gonna get this luxury, respect and money elsewhere but still they have zero respect of people they work for!!!!! Ushna and such like her need to be courteous to the public or be brave enough to handle such comments!!!!!!! Not all but some of Pakistani celebrities are on a specific agenda, including some designers, some directors, some writers....backless clothing, revealing, exposing attires, naach gana, tattoos etc!!! Yahoodion ke baad ab hum , muslim ummah ab break karey gi tamaam hodood jo Allah ne mana ki hai , tho phir hum hin zimidaar hai uske results ke liyay bhi!!! ??? Love Allah much, fear Allah much!!!

Absolutely disgusted at Aamna's view on Maria B's take on homosexuality. You can be pro-homosexuality all you want but there are people who draw a line where God draws a line. We're all sinners and trying to repent in our own ways, so insinuating and mentioning things like her past and present sins is absolutely uncalled for. Two wrongs do not make a right, and Allah asks us stand against what is morally wrong and destroying the society, the least of faith is acknowledging it in our hearts. If her being against LGBT is "human-phobic" then your intolerance against difference of opinion and how she should be banned and license revoked and everything, that's also super "human phobic" because tolerance doesn't work one way. In the past, we had khuda Mera bhi hai which raised issue on problems encountered by intersex kids and people very responsibly, without promoting gender fluidity. Allah has put all of us through different tests. If we all started acting out on our nafs only (if I wanna be a man one day, I'll be a man, If I wanna be a woman one day, I'll be a woman) without caring for any consequences, then the basic moral fabric of this society will be destroyed, (it already is being, and you're one of its proponents). May Allah guide us all.

Ppl like amna and Hassan who are ignorant about islam are promoting wrong msg to ppl who are mostly Muslim viewers....Amna - when you are not following the religion then atleast Don't pollute minds of others or atleast keep out of it. Do whatever you want regarding your feminism or homosexuality etc etc but don't share your half knowledge and create misconceptions. When Allah clearly states that when you see something wrong when it's related to your Muslim brother/sister then it's our duty to politely guide them ...instead of agreeing or justifying their ignorant views on us...

These two hosts are trying to change the mindset and supporting the present times so called "liberal Muslims" ...am totally amazed at their vices ...reviewing dramas is okay but reviewing on movies and culture that goes against our religious beliefs is uncalled for...they are infact not ready to accept those who say the truth ...either ego or hypocrisy at it's best! They need to go back to learning more about religion regarding major sins and the supporters .... Prophet Lut's wife was the supporter of the homosexuals or that time and she was not spared by Allah.... Hope they learn their lessons ..and NOW they are saying it's perfectly normal to wear skin revealing dresses ...they don't want to hear the truth ... Few days back Amna even posted about her paintings I was shocked with her views though...no wonder she talks this way. She needs to learn what's right and what's wrong.

As an Indian firstly, I would like to clarify that every state has its own wedding attire, from the cuts of the lehenga or whether to wear a lehenga or a sari , to the drape of the dupatta or the Pallu it varies so much State wise , and in the cosmopolitan landscape it changes yearly from designer to designer. You can easily tell a Manish Malhotra bride apart from a JJ valaya , or a Sabyasachi from Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla. A lot of them are opting to wear Faraz Manan too now a days and honestly guys , no one here could care less that they are wearing a Pakistani designer , so I don’t get the hue and cry over Ushna’s India “inspired” outfit. It’s bizarre. As a Sikh punjabi , I can say we don’t wear an outfit like that on our weddings, the choli is mostly longer but in the urban landscape you can do whatever , this is 2023 for crying out loud.

You are actually right. As a Pakistani expat I dont understand it either because we ALL ADORE Indian clothes and jewellery with the very unique colour combinations. If anyone is going to India we beg them to get some sari or dress for us and jewellers make money by copying Indian designs. Pakistani designers have only recently emerged and made their names. About 30 years ago there were hardly any. All we did was get clothes from across the border or copy designs from Indian magazines. I think the problem with Ushna's outfit is not that it is Indian. The issue is that it is showing too much skin which is against our religion and culture.

@@Saamla Interesting observation. You have to understand, though, that Pakistan is a very conservative country, more so now than before. Where these girls can wear what they like in private parties, on TV they have to follow a strict censorship code and that's how our people get used to seeing them. Yes, I remember seeing some ladies without blouses. You will not see that in an Islamic country.

Amna I am assuming that you are talking about Maria B. If that’s the case I’m quite saddened. However, the way you condemned your co-host of your fashion show on that halloween show, I hope that you will reconsider this issue. By the way after that halloween party pics on internet I have stopped watching that host’s shows. Galaxy lollywood has presented Maria’s perspective in a much better way. And it is no hidden secret that USAID funded projects have their own agendas. And I am amazed by their strategic move to get such issues acceptable in the society. After presenting two powerful episodes on women empowerment they jumped on their agenda. No one is against intersex people but please cross check if gender fluidity is supported in Islam?

Yes, it is about Maria b.Maria b has spoken against the lgbt agenda appearing in the pakistani media very strongly and she also spoke against the movie joyland.Amna supports the lgbt and also went out of her way to support joyland.Maria b is against these things and that is why she wants Maria b to be banned.Although, this time, Maria b made some comments about sar e rah which shows an intersex character.Islam is not against the intersex people but no religion allows transexuals/ gender fluidity and homosexuality. To conclude, I think the liberals should be more tolerant towards the conservative and religious mindset if they want others to tolerate their opinions

I don’t think the people are talking about the dress color. Many other actors including Iqra Aziz wore red on their wedding day, but I believe it’s the size of the blouse people are referring to. Most of our Pakistani actors don’t wear a very small blouse like Ushna did. I am personally against criticizing someone’s choice of the wedding outfit but Ushna is a public figure & she’s crazed by millions of Pakistani fans, So they think they have a right to give their opinion. Some of them will say good things & the others will criticize. This is part & parcel of being a public person.

I have always respected Amna's point of view on almost all the social topics, but here I disagree with her. A drama is made on a subject for the public to watch n the public has full right to like or dislike aswell as agree or disagree with the concept. Why is Maria B not allowed to put forward her take on the subject. Why bann her for speaking what she feels right. We always talk about freedom of speech then why are we limiting her. If u disagree with her that's fine but to bring her personal mistakes n her character in light here is very low of you . If u want your views to be respected learn to respect others as well.

Honestly she was looking like a typical rich well to do Hindu bride and I'll tell u why. The skin show was a bit much.. no dupatta covering the front at all. It was also the red bangles that looked like chooras. A very Hindu/Sikh tradition. Also the Maatha patti and maang tikka looked very typical of a Hindu bride.. I think the side jhumar is associated with Muslim brides and also a heavier dupatta covering up a bit more. She looked lovely and very much in sync with Asian brides. If the society u move around in is ok with such modern outfits than no one should bother. All the brides these days with good figures are wearing such outfits. My wedding lehnga was very similar but my blouse covered my tummy ..maybe an inch showing. It's a personal choice and it's completely the brides prerogative.

That drama was not about transgenders, rather about intersex. Intersex have medical problem by birth, thats why they are like this... urf aam our khwaja sara community. Transgenders are healthy by birth and are either biologically male or female.. they tend to identify with other gender while growing up or later on. Drama being about intersex and their acceptance in the society makes lots of sense. Though Maria B's thoughts about transgenders are correct, she misunderstood the drama.

@@rabiyaniaz8859 no she did not misunderstand the drama. What she was trying to say was the intersex people DO NOT get feelings of being a girl and in Islam- there is no significance of feelings. You dont get to choose your gender based on feelings. Even withintersex people- the doctor decided which gender is prominant based on medical proof. Ye nahi hota ke jo dil keray wo ban jao....makeup kero...larkiyon ki tarah kapray pehno.

Pakistani blouse is diffrent the way pakistani brides take dupatta is diffrent.. If I don't her as pakistani actor and someone will show me her pic I will most probably will say its an indian bride. If a pakistani designer has designed this.. She was inspired by indian designs/rs or she was asked to design an indian design lengha... also the way she styled it is totally indian brides way... plus the jewellery.. common this Mattha patti is not pakistani design.

People said the same thing for Iqra when she got married and wore red, people became critics when Hiba got married, people made fun of Minal when she got married. This is proof that no matter how covered, how religious, how respectful or even how happy the bride is on her wedding day, Pakistani people will criticize them for no bloody reason. We call ourselves a peaceful and respectful society yet we don't show respect to others on their own big days. Those who judge others clothes and choices in life turn out to be the biggest sinners in our society's. Ushna looked happy and that's all that matters. As far as looking Hindu is concerned, it was her day so she could choose to wear whatever she wanted. I feel sad for us because we can't be a society that we project we are.
@fi879

"How happy the bride is"... that's the key.. the entire issue is with that... how dare she get to enjoy so freely and the men in her life are ok with it... but I dont. So let me bring her down by saying my life is a pious one (not a suppressed depressed one). So sad mindset.

I felt strange reading comments about Ushna’s Lengha. I , didn’t for a moment think it had an Indian look. All I thought was that the colour was too bright for a day wedding and the floral pattern, motifs were too big, while i prefer intricate, fine embroidery. Red is the traditional colour of both pak India brides. Now girls are going for lighter colours specially at day time. Sindhis wear matha patti, and probably go for big motifs, while tikka jhoomar was a Punjabi thing but now everyone wears what they like. If red and big motifs, and matha patti was indian, then Aliya and Kiara can be said to be adorning Pakistani style. 😀

Some said why did she dance. It was her wedding , she had every right to enjoy herself. No one should have a problem with that. The videos should not have been made public. Our brides sit like painted lifeless mannequins on their weddings with 500- 1000 people she does not even know, staring at her. She cannot move, gets tired and bored. Wedding function is just an occasion to show off wealth with no actual participation of bride and groom. Why not invite a few close friends and enjoy as it is the bride and grooms big day.

And if the fashion industry now also want to be moral police and wants to ban people. Well designers should first stop design for the thieves who destroyed the country. Elites like Maryam and Bakhtawar are proudly shown wearing xyz designers on fashion magazines. Also on the Maria B topic even in the west people speak against LGBTQ and all that non sense

Photos of people's private moments??? What a cheap and shoddy world we live in!! Sadly, there is so little respect for our artists in Pakistan that the violators know that they will get 'likes' on their photos even if they violate the artist's privacy rather than 'kaley aur gaaliyan' for doing it!!
