The Samsung Smart tags work on the Samsung find My Network. Finally, a good explanation on it's functionality and use to use cases that affect your outcome. I am not sure why even this long after they have been out it was this hard to find a video this clear about it. Thanks! I got two, I am in the Samsung ecosystem and in the US.

Got many of these. While travelling I can see where my vehicles, luggage and bags/wallet are. I use the basic smarttag as they seem to have longer battery life and do everything I need. When boarding a flight you can detect if your checked luggage is,with you or not.

Thumbs up for info on tracking bags for international travel. We have Samsung phones and I checked market share for our future travel locations to confirm we would have enough coverage from other phones. If traveler in one country and bags in another having phone coverage important.

I had this Tag for over a year and it's one of the best purchases I made. I bought an extra one for my car just in case it gets stolen. It's extremely accurate and awesome when you can't find your phone, you double click and your phone starts ringing. For $30 and no subscription it's a no Brainer

@allanjuntilla7993 the regular tag is great on battery. The galaxy plus tag is horrible. The new galaxy tag 2 is going to be released in a couple months

I like the idea for missing luggage, one of my bags didn't make a flight recently and was lost in the system. Immediately I wished I had a tag in it. But while you might be able to track the bag - the next question is how do you deal with the airports and airlines? Are they going to proactively take this information and make an effort to locate it? Not to be pessimistic, but I have my doubts based on personal experience (bearing in mind the volume of lost/missing luggage these days). Would love to hear a real world success story though!

I have Tile tag on both my key rings. The cost of replacing a key fob is crazy. I also had one in my wallet. Last Nov while on a Buenos Aires market, my pcket was picked. By the time i discovered the theft, the thief was gone. I was able to locate my wallet, less CC's and cash, in atrash can several blocks away because of a tracker.

Nice review, I agree about Google. Question, does it need to beep the tag when you search for it? That wouldn't be great if you were searching for a stolen item with a tag.

However, I have a question regarding this tag: I'm soon flying with a checked luggage, and I don't know if it will be a problem to have it in my luggage since the majority of those tags have lithium batteries? I got one and the battery drained too fast, I tried to change the new battery and it can only last 12 hours similar to the battery that defaults when I unbox the smarttag :(

I plan to travel internationally with my cat, so this video will tell me if a SmartTag is a good idea (in case he escapes and i have to find him, which has a slim chance to happen, but i'm not taking any chances). I have a Samsung phone, and not about to get an iPhone to use Airtags.

Hi there. My mother 85yrs old has been misplacing her keys lately. I purchased 2 tags and put 1 on her key ring and 1 on mine. I have a Samsumg A73 5G and it updates very regularly to the location of my keys. But, my mothers galaxy seems be only picking up other samsungs and not hers (samsung Galaxy A13), which is not as good as mine with regular updates. Is there something on her phone that needs to be turned on?

I had problems with my chipolo and after I gave feedback they told me to go into app settings and make sure that the app wasn't being blocked when not used since android can be pretty aggessive with the battery saving in some cases. I don't know if this goes for samsungs tags, but worth to check if it is the case and give feedback about having problems and maybe they can help you further.

I believe that only Samsung users' phones who have switched on the 'Find my mobile' switch in Biometrics and Security (together with the 'offline finding' switch) will report the location of your tag. I think that this is automatically switched on if you are using Smart Things app but users who are not using it won't automatically have their phones update the location of any smart tag.

No they report anonymously, doesn't matter if fond my phone is on or off on your phone or the reporting one. Tags are the nuts. Best live location for anything you can't afford to lose. And samsung phones are everywhere to give plenty of reports

The default battery lasts up to a year, or about at least 280 days assuming you use it constantly. To save battery or turn device off you will have to pop it open and remove the battery

Does the Smart tag beep after a certain amount of hours that it is not in your possession? I believe the AirTags beep after 8 hours.

Haven't been able to get mine to work or pick from other devices. Only ever works if my phone is 30 meters away. Hard to believe in a city of 170k not one is pinging the location?

Is there a problem with storing batteries in your checked luggage? Normally airlines don't like it because of the temperature changes.

Yes, there is. If you declare it (you have to) American Airlines will make you carry-on your batteries, unless it's in a motorized wheelchair.

Only lithium ion batteries are an issue. Commonly found in large portable chargers and laptops.

These are well worth their money. You can think of endless uses for them. There are recently 1 or 2 airlines that are not allowing these to be in your bags anymore. Total B.s. if you ask me but beware of that.

@gavinrichardson3918 they have lithium batteries and could potentially explode and cause a fire. Same reason why you should carry battery packs in overhead luggage and not checked in luggage.....you would spot the danger early and stop it.

For $30 it's crazy not to have them in your RV, Car, even your E-Bicycle frame. I'm sure that the people who steal RVs know there will be a tracker on board, and have ways of detecting it. However, it may give the Police enough information, in those first couple of hours, to get a fix on the vehicle before the thieves get to work locating it.
