Those are plastic clamps used to hold the surgical drapes to the poles at the head of the operating table. Unfortunately the United States of America is VERY wasteful and those are supposed to be single patient use. It is sad to see things discarded in the Unites States that are used until broken in other more conscious countries.

Even though I have not used the Fabius plus, by looking at its characteristics it appears that it should not be a difference in ventilatory capacity compared with the Apollo. There are several videos from Drager and also product information from them with technical data that supports this view. In relation to Aisys and Avance they are great ventilators as well, but on a crisis like the Covid generated one, I would greatly favor the Drager machines as their electric piston driven ventilator uses no gas to drive it appears to have close to zero internal leak problems we often see with GE machines (this is an annoying issue at our hospital). We have GE (Avance) and Drager (Apollo) machines and looking at Biomed calls to solve issues, mainly leaks, not related to the breathing circuit the majority (almost all calls) are for GE. Finally, we do like our two machines, but our peds team loves the Drager, and our adult team both for anesthesia delivery.
