It blows me away when I watch stuff like this. Just amazing the depth of knowledge and creativity some people have for Power BI. What this video highlights to me is the limitations Power BI has in terms of re using components like measures and visuals. Hopefully Microsoft is taking notice of this.

That ending. That's how I feel when I go back and look at models I created in the past. 😁

Awesome application of Brad Frost's principles! As another Atomic Design fan, it I great to see more people embracing what webdesign has to teach us in the data field. Outstanding video. - T, from Data Rocks.

This is excellent. I would assume that the PBIP format and scripting could help overcome the limitations you pointed out when using the visualization library approach via a PBIX copy/paste?

Ciao Kurt, the new "On-object interaction" option don't solve the limitation at 15:28? You can swap fields/measures, without needing to remove and add them, don't know if it keeps the formatting in every occasion though. Great video btw, the 3/30/300 one too, very inspiring, looking forward for the next ones.

It does in part yes; you can find this in the article too. I didnt go into it in detail in this video because the feature is in preview and will likely change which is harder to update in the video as opposed to the article. 🙂

When I heard “atomic” I thought of dimensional design principle of bringing in data at the most detailed level. Transaction level instead of aggregation at Day level. Let’s see.

It's based upon a known methodology from UI/UX, whereby something complex is made by combining simple building blocks that you can apply as components to new solutions in a modular way.

Grain, Granular, or Granularity are the phrases I think of when reading your description. If a table is more granular, it has more details (like order and line number), if it has less granularity or a larger grain size, then it is more aggregated (like to the day level).
