Nice clean laminates. Your temperature control is spot on. That bluegill would be an early-season killer down here.

Thanks Clint! I've heard from some that the 7.5 doesn't laminate well but man... that has not been my experience. Every time I shoot it they come out awesome. Maybe I'm just lucky, LOL! I do try to shoot at low temps... 330max... 320-325 preferred (before it hits the injector and mold which I'm sure drops it again 10-15 degrees). The guy that was saying that, I've seen, shoots 340+, even with laminates, so perhaps thats the difference. Whatever it is, I'm just glad it works out! Thx again man, glad you liked it!

Sweet baits!! It’s hard to beat the powder color shift in any bait but it really showed out in a bait that size!! I doubt you’ll fish any of the 4 many times that you don’t get hammered!! Another great set of tunes!! Thanks for sharing Adam!!

Only been to Virginia once. Bush Garden’s. But I did fish the ponds at the golf resort there that you stay in for the park. Did get a 3-12 couple of 2 lbr’s and a couple dinks. It was fun for sure 🤙🤙

Bloody Awesome pours Adam...Personally i havent poured plastics in years...Might be time to bite the bullet and damn the postal charges and put a large order in with Barlows....I was very lucky as being in Australia,plastic injection guns molds and plastic is hard to get...The camaraderie between jig tyers is alive and strong worldwide as Brent Thompson (ToadFrog) lures from Oklahoma heard of our plight and Donated me all the gear neccessary to complete making my own plastics... Crazy how much "thicker" it is even at temp. I've gotten very used to 242 so I have to retrain my brain when I pull out the 262 for this big dawgs. Honestly, the 242 makes a great 7.5 as well, it just may not be as durable after a bite. But hey... if its a bite on a bait that big, I doubt I'll mind too much if it trashes my bait, LOL! (assuming I hook the dang thing that is!)

Thanks Dan! I loved that grn pump over sunburst… it came out killer! I fish those bad boys on a 7.2-7.3 Heavy. They take a 12/o Beast Hook (which Carrie’s 3/4oz weight) and the baits themselves aren’t light, so you need the backbone. Line… 15# flouro does well. I’m a braid to leader guy, but straight certainly works too. If you’re throwing at toothy critters, slap on a steal leader or 50# mono at the very end… something that can stand up to a pike/musky. Hope you enjoy em!!

Los colores son brutales yo los uso pero curiosamente parece que el pez no los ve tan bonitos como nosotros jajjajjjaa. Es un pigmento que es buenísimo para aguas tomadas pero personalmente despues de haberlos usado mucho y me encanta pero prueba a haber ese precioso pero curiosamente lo tradicional les gusta más y es normal por qué lo antiguo o menos moderno es lo que más relacionan los peces a lo natural ,aunque reconozco que ese shad de vinilo debe ir genial y felicidades ya has empezado a usar los anzuelos que yo uso jajjajjjaa es maravilloso usar esos tamaños ya sabes que no es minipez jejejeee. Gran trabajo como siempre Adam!!

Thanks Sean! The 7.5 shoots awesome for me, so long as I keep the temps low (325ish works out great). Some have said it doesn’t laminate as well, and even freezing the mold before using it helps, but I haven’t found that extreme of measures necessary, so long as my temps are under 330. (The buddy that told me about the freezing deal may routinely shoot at higher temps, so I can see how that would help.) Appreciate the question! Can’t go wrong with Epic!

Thanks Rob! Yup, I sure do. I didn't record that portion, but after I get it fully cooked I like to take it up to about 370 again and vac it. I find the hotter the plastic the better it performs in the chamber... just loosens everything up when its hot. Appreciate the question and thanks again! Glad you like the baits.

i'm new in laminating soft plastic . i just purchased N2 dual Injection but the back and belly bleed together and i'm not getting a perfect and equal colors on the back and belly . Any suggestions on how to solve this issue? thank you

Hey, happy to make a couple suggestions, see if they can help: 1). Once heard this mold, due to its size and a-symmetric body shape, is tough to laminate. The colors don’t tend to want to cooperate like they will in other, smaller, molds. That means temperature and speed are going to be even more important (less forgiveness when things are a little off). 2). So… based on that… I would try shooting this guy around 320… being a single cavity, and assuming you’re only shooting one at a time (not multiple molds) you could even shoot 310-315. The cooler the plastic the less they will bleed. I’d also inject slower than normal. That will give time for the plastic to move around the a-symmetric body shape and produce a cleaner laminate. This all assumes your using the same derometer plastic for both colors and both are liquid pigment (or powder pigment), you’re not mix/matching them (which can cause issues as well). Hope this helps!!

@@MoorishDesign the injector and block… wouldn’t hurt, especially if you’re shooting that low and have multiple molds to shoot (it will help prevent the block from seizing). The mold… I don’t think so. I have a friend that actually does the opposite… he literally puts it in the freezer before shooting. I’ve never done that, and not had a need to, so long as I was shooting lower temps. Feel free to try it either way… I just pulled it out and shot it “room temp”.
