In this video, I use colour and contrast to add depth to a photograph or flatten a scene. I'll show you how to effectively create the illusion of depth by simply changing the colour temperature and adding or subtracting contrast.

I really like how you show the difference between the raw unedited image compared to the finished image. It really shows the impact of the simplicity of your edits.

Great tips Adam. It's one thing to "know" that light vs dark, warm vs cool, smooth vs textured, saturated vs hazy creates contrast and depth, but it's great to see it done in real life applications, like this. Kind of an "ah ha" moment. Thanks for the video!! Hope you're able to get out shooting again soon.

Wow! I am so glad I watched this. When I first watch your editing videos, I stop and try to imagine what you will do. Well, you got me again! The final image was so much more impactful than the original. The simple dunes really emphasize how much the editing process creates the results you want. Hell, even I might be able to do this! 😊

A very interesting video, Adam. You’ve taught me a great deal here, especially in using the black and white sliders instead of the contrast. I have used the masks but not quite in the way you did here. So very enlightening, thanks Adam!🇦🇺

Hey Adam, excellent tips here. This is really helpful for me even right now. I was working on a photo earlier today with these types of issues and having little success. I will try this. I like how much improvement there can be to the look of a photo with only these little changes. From flat to quite nice. Many thanks. Good luck with the house prep.

I really want a pair of D850 bodies. I have two D800s now. One has the 14-24 mm f2.8, and the other has the 24-120 mm f4. Between the two I have continuous coverage from 14 mm to 120..

Dune images are amazing . Not an editing question but a capture question - at f8 and telephoto , did you focus stack ? Seems you would need to ?

No focus stacking. The foreground in the second shot is blurry but adds to the effect imo
