Using external Plugin Effects with XR18 in live application.

Here I'm sending my live vocals over to Reason for processing and bring back in " realtime" while the band is performing live.

Good job. LATENCY? I play in live with Cakewalk and use THU effects for guitar with no perceptible latency (12 ms). I would like to use this mixer to have more flexibility than the sound card. Thanks for the video, already very useful 👍

@@djlionel9367 Are you using the XR18 as your main mixer for your karoake gig? If that is the case its good to know it very well, in the event you have connection issues connecting or drop out lost of wifi. However the internal effects are more than sufficient for vocals especially reverbs and delays.

@@lattieboyjohn yes I am. I also use it for a open mic night I host once a week too. I’m just running the mixer straight and want to add some spice to it

@@SonTran-ft4sy This is your best and most easy way to go.kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mrCfZ9CEyJfLeqc.html. however i was using Reason 12 Rack extentions and plugings in the tutorial but Waves Rack is much easier.

Really didn't add no latency at all. In this case the XR18 is the audio interface for the DAW, everything is handle in the computer im not routing physical cables.

@@lattieboyjohn it s the software that adds latency, not cables. :)...That s why I use Analogue mixers, and they sound much better also :)

Yeah the software does, however you can lower the latency by milliseconds in Reason quite drastically going down in negative numbers. If im using a DAW and the XR 18 is my audio interface it works. its not like im running cables from my XR18 to a computer running my daw thru and additional audio interface. @@gibson2623

If you listen to my voice in the demo that I did as i was talking to a shure sm 57 my voice went thru the XR analog input then into reason and I added reverb and delay and it all happen in real time. Did you hear any latency. Again Im only sending a vocal mic signal to the verb and the delay. This is only I i wanted a special VST that is not in the XR18. The Verbs and delays are fantastic as they are in the XR. But lets say I wanted an LA2A on my vocal. I could use the DAW for a better plugin. Hope you get what im saying. @@gibson2623
