Pro tip: always use a brand new microfiber cloth for mirror finish.

Thanks for doing this. Herd people talk about it but never seen the results.

Wish I'd seen this before I applied it to the etching on a TC 15 "Wooly Bully" - faded it with one application. My thought is that GEC inks the etching to darken it. Live and learn. Subscribed.

Turtle wax light polishing compound, then spray a cloth with ballistol and wipe the knife down

Have you ever used Maas? I believe it's a bit more forgiving than Flitz which has an abrasive in it, some on the blade forums agree. For polishing Maas, for cleaning/stains, Flitz. BTW, I use spray on instant carnauba wax on Ti and blades, keeps oils and dirt from affecting it as easily. Won't affect moving parts, if anything it helps.

Have you ever used Flitz on any GEC jigged bone handles? If so, any discoloration?
@Leftycutlery7 жыл бұрын
cerebus1022 I've used it one a jigged handle 47 but that was green bottle glass and it has no issues with discoloration when I went to polish the shield. I have also used Flitz on several dyed Camel bone GECs and haven't had any issues either. Possible in the future I'll use it on a dyed jigged bone but from my results so far it doesn't seem to mess with the dye

Is flitz mainly to be used with mirror polished finishes? Would it affect the appearance of say a satin finish?
@Leftycutlery7 жыл бұрын
Doug Le I have used it on satin finish GECs as well to remove patina and have not had any issues
