Thanks for great video! For those of you saying this is another’s accounts idea while this technique may look similar I see people posting that YN did something similar 3 years ago. It’s hard to give original credit to any technique as they morph and build over time. For context I have been a hair colour specialist for 32 years. While I am a much different pro now all the basics I learned still are my foundation. If your good at what you do, you keep building on technique. I have to tell new artists all the time that balayage was invented in the 1970’s. I learned in the early 90’s how to do it. My technique has a modern twist but my foundation knowledge has not changed. I believe artists are better when we collaborate and lift each other up.

Young Nails nail tips are obviously made of a good plastic in order to use it like a dual form. If you purchase other nail tips from another company there is no guarantee you will be able to remove the nail tip. Food for thought
@ladyveracity3 жыл бұрын
Cheaper thin tips will usually work, but you sometimes end up tearing the plastic when you remove.

You have to put your nails under lamp, just to dry on surface, maybe less then 30s. Then try to take it off, it's easy, believe me, with almost all kind of full cover tips.

I agree with your comment, I was pressing the polygel down so hard to get air bubbles out and then gel popping out onto side walls and what a mess. You see every nail Chanel tells you different things to do like one said press down hard to release bubbles and when did it, it didn’t work for me . I like the way Tracy did her nails and she is so clear in explaining it. I don’t have their brand of polygel as I have IBD sculpting or building gel works good too as other brands as long you can afford products. Just saying Thanks for posting,

I see a bunch of people who keep referring to this as Femi Beauty's Lazy Girl Method, it's not. Femi applies a paper thin layer of polygel on the underside of the nail tip, and leaves the tip on as the strength and structure of the nail. Basically like painting the underside with polish. This method used the tip much like a dual form to build a nail, and then the tip is removed. While the methods are similar, they aren't the same. To clarify, Young Nails originally posted THIS METHOD 3 years ago in a previous video. This is an updated version using their newly launched full cover nail tips. I typically don't comment on the drama surrounding this "Lazy Girl Method" because I dont think anyone can claim credit for an idea that has no patent, and is so similar to several other methods of product application that has been around for years. However, I have seen these same comments on almost every single nail channel lately with people bashing others using this method (I personally don't use the method and prefer traditional sculpting for application). It really takes the fun out of watching videos. This is supposed to be a fun community where people share ideas, techniques and such with each other. Isn't that the point? Just my two cents. But I wish the Lazy Girl warriors would find something else to focus on now.

Misinformation is easy to spread and dispelling it is triggering for seemingly no reason.🤷♀️ I agree with you. There are different ways to accomplish something, but each method will have its own pros and cons. Most of what I see online are hacky ways of doing something that won't last (ex: thin sidewalls). While this method here is a shortcut (not as good as a sculpt) it is presented that way truthfully and it's one of the better hacks I have seen. I wear sculpted myself because I like to actually scratch an itch instead of pawing at it with a thick free edge 😂 but my standards are high and most don't care about the underside like I do. Less hate and more honesty/transparency is what we all need right now.👍
@weekendnomad50382 жыл бұрын
Yea no not that thin .. not for everyone .. I haven’t seen FEMI.. but “lazy girl” is basically just leaving the full cover tip on.. and the term is meant to be funny… that’s what it’s called no one gets offended by it. I would love a video on the importance of leaving the cuticle alone if there is nothing actually in the way of of the manicure service... I get so many clients that want me to cut their cuticles and I personally have taken a stand on not messing with the cuticles (unless I need to) so it's created some tension when my guest don't understand why the manicure doesn't always need a cuticle clipping. I think so many more issues can arise when clipping them esp, on the day after if their cuticles are sore. I don't want their nail experience to have any memory of discomfort. But some customers just do not get it.
@thenailroombygee3 жыл бұрын
It is definitely a hard one!!
@michie8263 жыл бұрын
You're actually talking about the eponychium, which is living skin, not cuticle. Your approach would be to educate them. Cuticle is the film-like substance which lies on the surface of the nail. Pushing this off the nail or using a fine/medium file or sanding band to remove it is all that is encouraged with any enhancement (including polish) for adhesion of product.

I've always liked a thicker nail. I want them to feel like they are really on there and not flimsy. I know that we are supposed to have the tip "credit card thick", but I am one of those people that breaks the rules. Mine need to be a little thicker than that. I think using a full covered nail is great especially for folks that have difficulty with shaping the nail. I like using gel to adhere the nail, then an overlay on top to add strength and durability. I'm "old school", and I am so happy that there are so many techniques and products out there that we have so many options now. Thanks Tracey for the video!
