Want me to play your Poly Bridge 2 level? I'm going to try overengineering my viewers' levels for a future video, so if you want me to play yours, put my channel name (Reid Captain) in the title and post it on the workshop by October 22! You can also join my Discord to discuss level creation!

At about 7:00 you can see the engine lifting off the ground because of an unbalanced wheel, you should use this time make a helicopter in polybridge!

15:02 That wheel slip is also extremely common on real trains when you suddenly give the wheels too much power so added added bonus is realism.

Reid, I have been a long fan of yours, and, quite frankly, your content is the best game engineering on KZfaq. I remember watching RCE, ScrapMan and many others, but it's you that haven't changed after a certain subscribers milestone; what you make is presented in a perfect form, and it's just a pleasure to watch. Please, may your videos stay just as they are right now. I really doubt it could be topped :)

The water doesn't have regular physics so pushing down on it will not push you up. The only property about water is that it makes you fall slower by causing friction

"I think the problem is the engine produces the majority of its power when it's going really fast, it produces almost none when it's going slowly." where would we be without this oracle of knowledge
@dish78772 жыл бұрын
The problem is that you need more power at the start to start accelerating. You don't need power when moving fast because you're only maintaining speed, not accelerating.

I think the reason why the train is slower on the return trip is because the wheel on the back of the engine hits the wheel of the passenger car, You could try to add a mechanism that stiffens the car cable.
@ReidCaptain2 жыл бұрын
There shouldn't be any collision between wheels, but stiffening that joint might help it maintain a more constant speed
@mute10852 жыл бұрын
Wow, this was amazing! And it's so smooth and nice, it's hard to believe it's based on a glitch rather than working as intended. And now that you mentioned making a boat, I really want to see it. I hope you will succeed in making it.

Its going slower backwards because the engine has to push the cart and sometimes overpushes and the cart stops and waits for another push. And because it takes more force to start movement than to sustain it, it's slower. (No idea if the broken physics in this game work like that, but they might)

A way to improve your locomotive is to connect the wheels, it turns them into powered wheels, although it will add more stress to the engine, it will have more grip on the ground.

I wonder if it's possible to make a sprocket and chain setup with split joints, where the rotating wheel lets go of the chain right as it leaves if that makes any sense
@williamhuang83092 жыл бұрын
Maybe the reason why the train moves slower when reversing is because of how it pushes the trailer? Maybe try adding in some buffers for the "locomotive" to push.

that "Wheel Slip" you have is actually something that happens to real trains sometimes. good touch of unintentional realism, LOL
@ReidCaptain2 жыл бұрын
That's interesting, I guess the friction of the train's wheel is small in comparison to the force required to start moving the train.
@whitelionstudios17862 жыл бұрын
@@ReidCaptain indeed, it is something that happens when an engine tries to pick up speed too quickly on a section of track, among other causes

@zsoltracz5052 жыл бұрын
It seems like you made a transmission that gives more speed to the wheels so it requires much more power from the engine. i would make a transmission that let the engine spin fast and the wheels slowly so it can deliver more power.I don't know if this is matters in this game, but i should give it a try :)

@raulrodriguez82652 жыл бұрын
The train goes slower in reverse because of the beams that connects the carts. Because they are not rigid they pull on each other making the train stop. This repeats until the train stops.
