Hello and welcome back, thanks for taking the time to check out the video. Today we have an iPad, OBS, and the Elgato Capture app and we are going to show you how to make them all work together.

My daughter wants to be able to capture her Nintendo Switch games on her ipad. However, she has an older model that uses lightning connectors rather than usb-c. Is it possible at all to connect a capture card to a lightening connector? She's really excited about this idea and I'm worried I'll have to let her down. Any info would be stellar. Thanks!

Sure there is a way to connect a capture card to the ipad,....you could use the j5create lightning adapter or the apple one I would probably recommend using the elgato capture card.

Hey dude I have a question! So I have that exact same type c to hdmi adapter for my M2 iPad and I connect it to my 4K X elgato which is the newest elgato and it works however the quality is set too 760p 60hz and I wanna obviously stream in at least 1080p… and this is only with my iPad because with my ps5 it streams at 1440p 120hz, would you have an idea on how I can fix this? Also when I go into display settings on my iPad it says “if you are expecting higher resolution please try a different adapter or another hdmi cable” however the hdmi cable is literally 8K and well the adapter I’m using is the same one you are. Please help :(

Hmmm interesting what ipad are you using? I have the 4kx hooked up right now and with the 9th gen ipad max elgato capture will do is 1080? Does it not give you the option to change the format?

@@G.E.T thanks for the reply, I am currently using the IPad Pro 11inch Gen 4 the one with the M2 chip, and no it doesn’t let me for some reason.

@@G.E.T the 4kx is update and what app are you talking about? I’m not trying to use the iPad as a screen I wanna play mobile games and stream what I’m playing on my iPad :(

Just sub to your channel but I have a question I just bought the m4 iPad and I want to start making KZfaq videos of mobile gaming do I need a capture card i plan on editing on the iPad to don’t have a pc but I don’t want the game to lag if I use screen record if that makes sense would a capture card be useful to record and just upload it back on the iPad want good quality like 4k 60fps if possible would like your advice thank u

I mean if you want to take latency out of the screen record then i would say yes get on for recording to your ipad,…..it doesnt have to be an expensive one. Plus doing it all on one device (especially mobile devices) would cause lots of heat. The capture card i used in the video is inexpensive (like 45 dollars) and works really well and can capture up to 4k

Which are you speaking about? Capturing your ipad or using it as a capture card?
