The whole point of the multi grip bar is that it's way less taxing on the shoulder joints. U guys need to see a little farther, a neutral grip will not only effect your wrists, but even much more so your shoulders. A lot of guys with shoulders issues can only bench with a multi grip bar.

Also great for shoulder and elbow pain. I got to the point where I could no longer do straight bar BP. This style bar got me back in the game.

Exactly! No matter how much "form correction" I do I always snap all my shit up, around the shoulders etc. I am barely benching anything above one plate! I find dumbells to be much easier.

I've had shoulder issues in the past and neutral grip was a game changer for me. I still use a traditional grip from time to time, but the neutral grip is the new standard for me.

I expected more positivity toward this bar. I have the REP Fitness Cambered Swiss Bar and it has helped me a lot with impingement issues with my right shoulder. It allows for a more natural and stable positioning of the shoulder and a deeper ROM. Having your elbows tucked in naturally vs force tucking them in with a pronated straight bar grip feels much better on your shoulders/elbows/wrists whether you have issues or not. It's also works well for barbell rows for a greater ROM and makes it easier to recruit the lats more than a straight bar.

It's definitely a shoulder saver. But it's a lot different from regular bench. It's WAY harder!!!

I had the same experience. I can't bench as much weight on a Swiss multi-grip bar as I can on a traditional bar.

A swiss bar is the only bar I can use for bench presses. I have a torn labrum and a straight bar just hurts too much. The neutral grip relieves most of the stress on my shoulder and allows me to bench press without pain. The key to feeling it in your pecs is to not lock out at the top. Keep the tension on your pecs and flex them hard at the top of every rep, insane pump! Used to do them with dumbbells but developed medial epicondylitis. Orthopedic doctor said it was because dumbbells are less stable than a barbell. Switching to the swiss bar cured this as well.

I own one because it was a much cheaper way to accommodate neutral grip movements than buying a bunch of dumbbells. I agree about the close grip bench press, it totally changed how well it works for me in a good way.

It's the only way I can bar press these days with my shoulder injury. Takes a ton more wrist stabilization though.

I use the bar often, and I enjoy the closes grip more. It’s more challenging then the mid and wide. I notice the carry over but when training with the narrow parallel grip the weight is reduce a lot. It’s humbling but total worth it.

I'm 5'10 237lbs and I'm not "bulky" but fairly wide at the shoulders and big chest and triceps. My biggest press was 340. My most comfortable spot has been wide/medium wide grip. I tend to focus on how my chest feels. I'm definitely afraid of blowing my chest
