I avoided checking out this feature for too long. Finally got around to trying it a week ago and it is an absolutely fantastic time saver! Should have started using it awhile ago, didn’t realize the value.

I’m new to Fusion also. I’m not sure how you’re learning the software but Autodesk has a really good program with a bunch of different lessons. Also If you search Titans of CNC in KZfaq you’ll find another great program that teaches Fusion and also how to program the machine once you got your part drawn. HAAS’s KZfaq channel is also a great resource for beginners. I’m not sure if you have a machine already, but I found it a little discouraging that I wasn’t able to hold the part in my hand once I was done drawing it. My solution was to get a 3D printer since they utilize gcode to run the print. It’s also a great way to prototype parts before you start making chips. Stay positive my friend!

I dont think i will need it in near future, but thank you for showing this feature. I programmed the cam module for my lathe directly into it's control software, so i need fusion only for my mill. Unfortunately i don't have that many machines yet :)

Thanks John. Great video. All I need now is to be able to use a variable like version number in my file name so I automatically post a versioned NC file.

I saw another video (another streamer if i recall correctly) that was showing the use of using the 'derive from' process so that you don't have the stuff** CAM programmers use clogging up the actual model file. Have you put this in your workflow at all? **Stuff meaning the additional sketches or patches or whatever that a CNC programmer may use

i have some problems with the optional stop when no toolchange is applied. then i have to manually start the spindle and coolant back up after confirm the m01... Postprocessor 'missconfiguration'?

It's the middle of 2020 and we still don't have NPT threads on Fusion.

So much of this I’ve just considered poor implementation in Fusion, and it’s a bit annoying that it has finally come under the guise of a big feature package. Remembering the filename, location, and post, for example, should have always been persisted per-setup. I’ve reported this bug before.

Once again John, you are wrong, wrong, wrong! NC programs doesn't remember post settings! It requires you to enter in ALL information every time! More human input = more chance to error. You are dead wrong here. You can have multiple posts with slight differences for multiple files. You are dead wrong here. You can currently select to run an optional stop or different tool paths without NC programs. You are again dead wrong here. With most lathe posts you can set the Max spindle speed if it's made a post property with the current set up. Once again, you are wrong here also!
