I need to read that book, "Finish". I'm glad I discovered your channel. It's nice to see people with as many notebooks as I have.

It's really good! I plan to make a video summarizing some of its major points but it was a pretty quick read. Thanks for watching!

one thing i started this year is a marble jar. i got the idea from atomic habits by james clear (that book is worth every penny), in the book he frames good and bad habits as being like a vote for or against the person you want to be. so i got a big 10 liter jar from marshall's and then went on amazon and bought 3000 marbles. and so now every time i do something that's a vote for the man i want to be, i put a blue marble in the jar. every time i do something that's a vote for the man i don't want to be, i put a red marble in the jar. its pretty good way to gamify the self-improvement. its also great for encouragement because i can always look over at the jar and get a visual indication of progress.

My wife has the Atomic Habits book - I will have to put it on my book list! And that's a great idea, might have to look at the marble jar as well! Thanks for commenting!

something about handwriting and journals/notebooks is so satisfying. for a Walmart product, those exceed notebooks are actually really good. they even handle fountain pens pretty good.

I use 3 notebook system, a planner, a journal, a memory keeper/creative one. so, I have a stash too, but too many notebooks give me overwhelm, so I keep it strictly limited at a time, so I don't loose information. I made a video on my lineup system too.

New subscriber. Thanks for the video, Tyler! As a fellow guy, I want to keep a small notebook in my pocket. I'm just hung up over where to store the pen. LOL! I've looked at purchasing smaller pens, but not sure how well they fit the length of the small notebook (if that makes sense). :) Also, do you use paper/analog ONLY for your planning? Or do you have a hybrid system of Google calendar or such? I've found that while I love the idea of planners, I always tend to go back to the ease (and notification reminders) of Google calendar. Thanks again for taking the time to create this content!

Thanks for subscribing! I use a Pilot G2 pen and just keep it in one of my front pockets and sometimes keep my planner in my front pocket with it, or sometimes in a back pocket. I do mostly paper for my planning, but I will put appointments, bigger planned events, etc on my phone just so I have reminders that interrupt my day, especially if it's like a doctor appointment or something haha.

I have notebooks, but I have trouble making myself write in them.

Have you tried pocket notebooks? That was the problem with my planner, I had it, but didn't look at it enough. I use a pocket planner now and I use it all the time because it's always with me. I think part of using the notebooks is also setting up a good system and routine. Really besides my pocket notebook, I don't use any other notebooks every single day except my reading log, writing down what I read. The others are every few days/as needed.
