m/s means meters per second

the ranger skill gives 3 advantages, -faster distance measure, -0,5kg lighter, -less button slots needed. mostly it tells me if the shot is below 200M/656ft. so i wont get bullet drop on most rifles, ranger is my main skill i use. extra tip, you can just mark the animal, look at the map and hover the cursor over it to measure distance.

The tracer shell is good for learning to leed if you fire and barely catch it with 2 pellets it gives you an idea of more or less leed

windage is really good for longer range bow shots. The bullet moves x meters for every second of air travel time. So it's mostly relevant in distant shots. I'm not sure about the arrow right here, but I've never had that happen to me.

The wind is shown relative to the compass direction. The compass is shown in the perk, right above the wind indicator. It's understandable that it's a bit confusing.

Ive been thinking to reset my perks too since we dont need disturbed veg anymore its wasted. You get all info from any track now. Which is awesome. It shouldnt take a skill to notice what colour some fur is lol.

Tracers are good to learn how to lead flying birds like ducks.

I stopped using the zeroing perk long ago. As I found the it actually hurt the range of a lot of weapons I use. Namely bows & the crossbow, shotgun slugs, and the muzzleloader. Plus it just felt too easy, and I wasn't learning consistent ballistic droprates properly. So I no longer use it.

ive played cotw for a few years now and .....ive never used the zero ability ever...im not sure how to even use it and on which weapons lmao...i tell you what though...not needed when shotgun or handgun huntin

Man this game is in desperate need of a complete rework of it's skill trees and perks. With the recent additions, the standard binoculars give you the aproximate distance identically to the first skill in the video showcased.

I think the arrow for the wind is a prediction for how hard it goes, so an arrow down is a prediction for what it is going to be soon

I think all the active perks are bunk, even zeroing b/c I sometimes forget to change in my excitement and blow the shot. Aim up, nbd. The whole skills & perks is bunk and needs to be overhauled. Either take the math out of it, so I don't have to waste skills on useless items I never use just to be able to unlock something I really want only half way. Unlock the friggin thing and drop the cost. I'm fighting back from being in the poor house just for redoing mine a couple times. Oh ya, please add a perk that's useful... like a silencer

The range prediction wasnt that accurate because both it and the binoculars calculate the distance of the ground behind the animal, not from the animal itself, so to get the most accurate distance you should look at the ground below the animal's feet.

m/s means one meter per second. And it shows how strong the wind is, not where the wind blows.

I just pretty much accepted that none of the perks on this game are that great. But I can see they were trying to keep it realistic and lifelike

Maybe use the mods to try out all the skills using the infinite money? You can just do a different account so you don't have to worry about cheating.

this absolutely lost you a sub...the first 1 obviously works as intended and is effective...the problem is highlighting animals in game....if you cant get the highlight cause the animal is in cover, the perk doesnt work very well...but it does exactly what it says it does and there is no 220-250 meter shot where you can pick between 150 and 200....it auto zeroes you to the right distance....dont get me wrong Im not a fan of this perk and dont use it but it has a use and could be helpful if highlighting in cover was easier
