I tried this today with my derwent watercolor pencils and liquitex fabric medium and it worked GREAT. heat set with dry iron and the color did not wash out even with scrubbing with hand soap. the test with just water did wash right out. So the fabric medium is the key - even though it said "only for use with acrylic paints" it worked fine with the watercolor pencils🥳🥳🥳🥳

super helpful thanks🥳 I think I will give mine a go instead of buying inktense. Do you pre-wash your fabric?

Hi! No, I do not prewash any of my fabrics before coloring... I usually use Best Press to iron the fabric flat before stitching then use it again after the block has been stitched. I don't think it makes a difference to prewash but it certainly wouldn't hurt! ;-)

What pen did you use to draw the outline on the fabric?

Hi! All the patterns that I show in my videos have been embroidered. So the outline of this chameleon is black thread on white fabric. However, if I were to use a pen to outline, I would probably use a Fabrico marker or a micron pen. Let me know if you have any further questions and thanks for watching my videos!😊

Will this stay if the fabrics is washed??

As long as you use fabric medium to set the color then heat set with a hot dry iron for 10-15 seconds (while using a press cloth) you can wash your item without fading.
