A final word. Great video, both simple and pleasant. Muni can be a hassle. There are often long waits and scheduling is erratic ( The joke is, "There is no Y [why] in Muni.") Operators can be aggressively rude, there are frequent breakdowns, it is often overcrowded and, as in the case of your man with the badge, you can be hassled for no reason. Having said this, when it works it is great. I am glad to live somewhere where I do not need the use of a car. That is the one main advantage to me. If you are low income (For a single person that is $24,280 per year) you can get a monthly pass for half of the usual rate of 78.00. (39.00 for Lifeline low-income pass) I am bothered that that Muni employee if that's what he was, hassled you. Clearly, he was out of line. You may think it was funny but you could well have been a tourist and what impression would that have left? Keep up the good work and maybe I will see you on Muni one day! (Or at a stop waiting a billion hours for our ride to arrive!) Thank you!

You are not wrong. There was a breakdown like 2 weeks ago, it increased my commute time from 25 mins to almost an hr as we were told to get off muni and take a bus to downtown... that was not a fun day to say the least.. haha. Thanks for the comment!

I don't know who that guy was that showed you his badge. It is legal in the United States to photograph or film in a public place. As a photographer it is a good idea to look up the law, print it out and show it to people that attempt to harras you or stop you from doing something completely legal. Public property It is legal to photograph or videotape anything and anyone on any public property, within reasonable community standards.[44] Photographing or videotaping a tourist attraction, whether publicly or privately owned, is generally considered legal, unless explicitly prohibited by a specific law or statute.

I should've thought more about it, at the time I really didn't know so I did not wanna risk anything so I left haha. Will do more research next time to avoid situations like this one! Thanks for your comment Fred!

Who swipes their Clipper Card? Is that even possible? That is a card scanner, you just set your card over the sensor.

The municipal railway (muni) manages them. Even cable cars. If you get the app, you can get a ticket/monthly pass that is good for all of them. 👍🏼

You were not kicked out of the station. You probably were asked not to film if you did not have a permit. It is the same in NYC. Mostly safety, especially after the 9/11 attacks. Besides that, great job!

And more directly from Muni: NON-COMMERCIAL PHOTOGRAPHY AND VIDEOGRAPHY The general public is allowed use personal, handheld photography and videography equipment on all Muni in-service transit vehicles and on publicly-accessible SFMTA property, including Muni stations, as long as such activities do not interfere with transit operations. While on SFMTA property, all photographers and videographers must comply with the following restrictions: Photography or videography activities cannot interfere with the safe operation of any Muni vehicle, as determined by the vehicle’s Operator or other SFMTA personnel, and must fully and immediately comply with their instructions. Photography or videography activities cannot impede the safe movement of Muni customers as they board or exit from vehicles or make their way through Muni stations. Stairways, escalators, doors and aisles cannot be blocked by photographers and videographers at any time. Large cameras, photo or video equipment or ancillary equipment such as lighting, tripods, cables, etc. are prohibited. All photographers and videographers are prohibited from entering, photographing, or taking video in non-public areas of the SFMTA's transit system. When using photography or videography equipment on SFMTA vehicles or property, always be aware of your surroundings, including your proximity to moving transit vehicles or the edges of Muni platforms.
