In this video I'll show you how I take the same basic chords that I always use and turn them into soloing tools.
This is a style of soloing I really love and I hear it from players like Robben Ford, Matt Schofield, Chris Cain, and many others.

After several years, this has given me the place to start soloing over chords. Having purchased your Blues Unleashed lesson 3 yrs ago, perhaps I should take it out of the mailing boxes !!

The perfect information for where I am right now. Ties it together so I can now sound like a guitarist - makes it fun!

Noticed "Guitar Sanctuary" on your t-shirt. Sounds like a place that welcomes unpopular guitar models, etc., and gives them a place to stay. 🙂

There is a video of an Eric Clapton concert and, after having a total brain fart during a solo, he plays a sort of run all the way down to the open bottom E. It gave him time to get his head back together. He went on to play one of the most fantastic solos I have ever heard him (or anyone else) play. So, sometime it DOES pay to know where the sixth string notes are. I also saw Gary Moore run all the way down to the bottom... for a dynamic effect. As you say, it isn't used or done very often, which is why it should be in the back of a player's mind. Sometimes "different" is what sets you apart from the rest of the crowd.
