Had guy bring me a load of firewood that had been wallowed in mud like that one time. Cost me $600 for wood and I couldn't cut one log into firewood before I had sharpen chain. Took 5 chains to get it all sawed up. I started buying it from different guy.

Thats a right handed buck saw on the left side of the loader??
@hoskinslogging98582 жыл бұрын
Haha. Not sure. All we know to do is put it where it has to be and run the crap out of it.

@@hoskinslogging9858 LoL... That saw is meant to be on the other side of the loader so when you pull the trees in with a skidder they are ready to just be picked up and laid in the saw for quick measurement and sawing.
@hoskinslogging98582 жыл бұрын
We’ve ran it both ways. This is just how it would up on this job. Not a whole lot of difference in either side.
@timberslasher48992 жыл бұрын
@@hoskinslogging9858 how are you measuring your log length without turning the entire tree around? Is the saw reversible? I have a reversible saw that I just recently got. Always had right handed saws till now.
@hoskinslogging98582 жыл бұрын
@@timberslasher4899 if we pull a log in that’s pit first at the saw. He will drag the whole tree across the carriage till the butt us at the saw. Then he just brings it back and measures it from there

I think the grapple would be easyer

You guys use a small dozer to do your skid trails. Is a 550 big enough to do the job. I ask because I have only used my skidder to do it. I know a dozer would be faster to do it but I don't have a ton of cash and want to get one that will be too small. I asked Pete (Nutsy 319) and he did not answer me.
@hoskinslogging98586 ай бұрын
Yeah I 550g would be plenty big enough to do it. Sorry I didn’t get back to you. I just saw this. Hope you got it figured out buddy

This is a personal question but how much do you make an hour doing what you do. I would love to get into stuff like this I am only 16 years old and I want to do stuff like this

You wouldn’t be looking at much just starting out with no experience. Everyone has to start somewhere though
