Your exactly right, it’s about getting to use your ears and knowing the machine sounds which comes with time, if you have a remote the xy screen will identify coke easily as the signal is straight up and down

Had my deus lite a few months now. This and the rest of your videos have been a great help. In fact, it was you and metal detecting 24 that inspired me to go for the deus in the first place 👍

I wear the controller on my arm so can have a look at the XY screen. But the way you id targets by ear is great. 👍👍

i have the ORX and being new to it all i have run it in deep and dug so much coke ,it was good to hear and learn the sound of coke ,and ill use coin fast from now on

So glad you do so well with your Lite. I used full Deus set up for many years, and sold it because I got sucked in to the D2 hype. Could get one, I purchased a used WS4 and 9" coil with my old GMP straight stem. A deadly combination on ancient sites. Well done you!

I use the hot program 9 always and for your second target, sounded like a mid tone, i said was gonna be a button or a shotgun shell. At least i know my program 9😂. Great video btw

Hi Ally ,you are in a beautiful setting there in North Wales, great to see you out detecting..but I have to admit to not knowing anything about settings & tones etc...whenever we get a chance to take our ancient " detector of shame " out over to the Allotments and woods all noises are dug up 😅🤣😆and they always mostly nails although there is a Victorian rubbish dump nearby and our plot neighbour has found a knapped flint and there are many Sarcen Stones buried in the beds...Great field where you are , love &Blessings xxxShaz xxx

Never used a Deus yet, but this video has shown huge differences in different programs and shows the user needs to be able to distinguish between those sometimes subtle changes in tones Great advice though with the deep program on a Deus lite But anything that says its a deep program is going to enhance all signals and change their responses Good educational video Alex, and shows your mastery of the Deus More of these please as people often buy the expensive machines expecting them to tell them exactly what is below the coil, when the truth of it is also a huge chunk of experience is also needed

I'm slowly catching up with your posts Alexander and I'm learning many tips and hints concerning the Deus. I will always be a minelab fan and use the mighty but heavy CTX3030. Since I am heading into my dotage I'd like a lighter but powerful machine hence my purchase.

Boy, you really do know and understand your machine Alexander - and a perfect demonstration why you do what you do! Totally right decision not moving up to Deus II in my opinion, and why should keep on that Hot programme! Good to see you mate, all the best!

Hi Alexander, another great video, Thank you. As a total beginner to the Deus Lite, would you suggest just using the Hot program or others too? Forgive my ignorance, even though I've been Detecting for years, I'm clueless with the Deus, quite a learning curve for me.

Great video Alex👍. I use the full set up so I can’t comment about that as coke comes in a vertices line on the x-y screen which is easy to see. My thoughts on the deep program are that although deeper signals are cleaner than on the Hot (lowered to 2.5 etc.) you can never really be sure that it’s not deep trash, so I also ignore the deep program until I get very desperate. I managed two deep sceats and a hammered half penny on Sunday😲. Happy days👍

I totally agree. I use the hot program most of the time. I have the full set up but rarely look at the screen. As previously mentioned, coke shows up as a vertical line. I found a lovely little bronze Roman duck brooch on my permission on Sunday. Ironically I discovered it next to a small pond in the middle of a field. I have found quite a few Roman coins around the edge of the pond. I wonder if the pond has always been there? Take care.

Great film, my thoughts are exactly on the deep program and I've found running hot program at 99 sensitivity on 2.5 / 3 reactivity and 17khz to be excellent on all my sites, only thing I noticed was when I switch to the 9inch hf coil it was slightly better on picking up a cut quarter on 54khz rather than the lower khz which is to be expected, probably will use that when the fields gone a bit quiet as coke sounds alot sweeter to the ears at 54khz...hope all well mate👍

Alex, I have to agree with you wholeheartedly. I actually have the Deus remote control but i used the Lite set up for 18 months before i added the remote to my arsenal, and, even now i mostly keep the remote in my pocket and go by the tones, mostly the very descriptive full tones in the Hot program, which like you i tend to use almost exclusively, lol, I don’t think there is much extra depth to be had with the Deep program or any of the other pre sets. The Hot programme is a killer when you are tuned into the extra tonal info it gives you. I never dig coke as once learned it gives a very distinctive sound, ok, there is the caveat that occasionally a hammered coin etc could conceivably ring in it at that same kinda tone/VDI, but i can live with that. I also lower the reactivity to 2.5 on pasture or slightly quieter sites and I find it goes plenty deep enough, especially if the soil is a little moist. The Hot Program is, for my money, the best thing about the Deus… and that’s saying something because it truly is a wonderful machine once you are familiar with it. I genuinely love your extremely entertaining, informative and light hearted videos, Alex, keep up the good work! PS: Tasky is a definite asset to your operation… 😂

I don't think I watch anyone who uses the Lite. But the more experienced detectorists I watch do go by the tones,unless it's a new machine they are learning.

My old lugs are not as sensitive as yours (always was tone deaf anyway), on the orx if signal is 20-50 turn on salt mode, if signal disappears its coke or trash, if it remains good dig it.! Where is that doggy, poor old tasci.

While I love your videos, I have to disagree. I never have dug coke with a Minelab. Not once in 12 years. Never with a Tesoro or a Garrett. But my XP Deus 1 loves coke. It has wonderful characteristics, but it likes coke.

How do you get away with digging full round clods like that?Do you own the land,hope its not a grazing field.
