Hi mate, glad you are well. I fished this weekend in sunny wales under the new bridge, on the low. I caught an eel, 3 codling and a 4lb Bass 😊 using a 2 hook flapper all took the bottom hook with rag worm 😊

Worth it for a sunny day out - yin and yang - one day an 8lb bass out of the blue. Thanks, nice film.

Morning Wayne I've been fish for a lifetime and a hair rigs, pop ups, . have been around for as long as I've been fishing and longer in the fresh water line of fishing for a million years. But You get a couple of big name people say that's the rig which is giving them hook up every time bla, bla, bla . if you look at the hook ups on a carp pond's it's massive. So why would it be so different in the big blue see where you have tide run and other factors it's going to work faultless . I think it's what ever turns you on I guess.

Yea Im a little annoyed at myself for not doing more research when buying my gear , I came back to the hobby after about a decade break and immediately went straight for casting specials as the 7HT mags I had before now sell for silly money but it does appear that fixed spools are a valid , if not better way to go these days, so I may give these a season or 2 and then make the switch to fixed spools

Stick with the dongle Wayne, it’s deadly in the Bristol Channel and i found my hook up rate on bites is much better than using pennel j hooks. Also a lot lot less deep hooked fish compared to the 2 hook pennel set up which has got to be a bonus.
