Using the Fluke 190-502 Scopemeter to measure electrical noise

The Fluke 190-502 Scopemeter is a battery-powered, handheld oscilloscope with lots of functionality in a small package. In this video we look at its ability to detect electrical noise in the power supply.

That is some really antiquated and sluggish LCD display, with way too much persistence, on such an expensive product.

most scopes are that slow when triggering on that few 60hz waves

It’s not a damn bench scope…. This isn’t made for your fancy bullshit this is for real pros who have to use them daily in the field.

It's a 500MHz scope. You're paying for the analog bandwidth.

It’s one of the best if not the best scopemeter in the industry. However if you’re not in industrial they’re pretty much pointless to a normal scope.

A scope doesn't have the sensitivity to display electrical noise especially when most of it is in the RF domain

Ok, so on my spectrum analyser I can see neg 20dBmv of electrical noise at 30Mhz which is approximately 100 micro volts . This electrical noise has destroyed the SNR and causing serious impairments to the communication channel. Are you seriously trying to tell me you can see that on a Fluke scope meter that has a sensitivity of 2mv per division? My spectrum analyser can see down to neg 50dBmv how far down can your scope see 🤣🤣🤣🤣
