@@FaramirsRangers It's always the pain of dealing with the Maratha hoard, stack after stack... I had gotten lucky in the run since they had put a lot of their stacks on boats which where of course easily sunk. In my opinion, Ottomans shine with artillery, and I really dislike like bowmen in Empire so I agree with the tactics but sceptical on the units.

True but remember isarelys and desert warriors are trash and the former is the most expensive militia in the game. That and I don’t use much art. If I do I only use one piece. Makes it too easy

@@FaramirsRangers Before Fire by Rank, Isarelys are about halfway between militia and line infantry in both stats and costs, so I think they're reasonable. I think devs wanted Ottomans to use good art + trash musket inf + flanking melee inf / missile cav. That works about as good as equally priced European army (you pay for extra flanking units by having cheaper musket inf). Playing Ottomans without their best units (they have best starting art of all, by far; you get like 20 turns before AIs even get 12lber; and you have 18lbers - not to mention you get sweet Organ Guns) is extra hard mode, for an already fairly hard faction.

@@stephenn.4928 It's 5. Since soldiers share ammo, and only front row shoots, that's like 15 volleys for 3-deep formation (and can't really spread them thinner on big unit scale). It's definitely a downside, but it will only matter in the longest battles. You only need Desert Warriors for like first ten turns to defend from Georgia or Persia. In those early battles it will last until the end. Also Dahomey Amazons have only 5 ammo, and they're super fun unit, I definitely recommend trying them out. (range 90, full size not half size like irregulars/lights, and decent stats - low ammo is the cost for that)

@ yeah you are right, it was the fellahin musketeers that only have 3 ammo. I was once caught dead in an extended firefight with a line composed entirely of fellahin and ran out of ammo.
